WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

What is your Summer of 2008 Mountaineering Goal

Recommended Posts

1. What is your Mountaineering goal this Summer of 2008?

2. How are you going to reach your goal?

My goal is to climb Mount Adams this Summer.

Im going to spend the night at Camp Muir twice a month hopefully until September. Then I plan on climbing Mount Adams. I'm also going to start walking to work again (with a 100z hydration pack) plus use my treadmill while watching tv or while I'm board.

1) Advance my rock craft, climb Stuart, spend at least a week in the cascades bagging peaks.

2) Ramp up fitness training starting with Ruckle Ridge next weekend, winter hood a few times and start plans for my rock gym in the garage and... stay out of the hospital!

Being a newby, my goal in '08 is to get geared up, and take a 3 day trip to Rainier, hopefully in the fall to ensure a summit.

If all that comes through, '09 should be even better!

2) Ramp up fitness training starting with Ruckle Ridge next weekend,

Ohhh... Thats a fun trail when it's raining out... Plus I think the top is all snow, creating a fun route finding adventure. I might see ya up there if these shitty avy conditions persist.

My goal, hit ever peak this spring in Goat Rocks, and hopefully get a massive amount of turns in in the area.

And stay out of the hospital.

I want to moonwalk the entire trail up Mt. Si. To get ready I am going to breakdance in my garage and hike Mt. Si once a week. By the time the snow melts I'll be badder than Michael Jackson in a white suit.

My 2008 mountaineering goals include climbing Mt Adams, then do a guided climb of Rainier this summer. I need to keep in mind that time passes quickly so I need to start saving and planning now. Guess that means I need to keep working a while longer...

My goal is to have fun with my friends. Yes, there are some particular climbs I have in mind but if I get one or two really good trips and several fun weekends with my buddies, that's not bad. I'd like to travel somewhere exotic and climb 5.reallyhard, but the fact is I won't - at least not this year. That won't stop me from wasting half the year on cc.com, though.
