Sol Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 As always, a big crew of badass PNW climbers scoring the grants to get after it. Congrats you guys!!!! Quote

genepires Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 congrats to all the winners. They all sound like good climbers on bold ventures. Quote

Choada_Boy Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Sweetness!! Hitting it heavy in the Hills!! Quote
wfinley Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Hell yeah! Here's the NE Face. To imagine a route up it is mind-boggling to me! Quote
olyclimber Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Congrats John, Roger, and Dylan! Question: has the Mugs award always spelled out the objective like this? I've read other years and I don't remember it being like that, but its probably just CRS. Seems like it could result in a queue if some other badasses had it in mind too. Quote
ivan Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 more importantly, does the grant contain cash for a wild send-off party? Quote
Zoran Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Congratulations to John! Fantastic objectives for all teams. This is real alpinism. Mugs award is something very special. I personally love this Waddington plan very much! Good luck to Damien and Jim! Baintha Brakk was very important objective for Europeans and Japanese. Looks like Colin will solve the puzzle Huber's couldn't. I am amazed how good he become. Exceptional talent! Quote
John Frieh Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Thanks all! Appreciate the shout out Make no doubt about it... it was Roj and Dylan's achievements that won that award. I have no delusion that I had much to do with our team being selected as a recipient. Question: has the Mugs award always spelled out the objective like this? I've read other years and I don't remember it being like that, but its probably just CRS. @Porter: as long as I can remember they have been listing each team's objective. Though the possibility of being scooped exists generally the objectives are big enough that often a portion of the climbing community is aware of it. Anybody else headed to the Ruth this year? Give me a shout if Ill see any of you in either Talkeetna or on the glacier! Quote
rmncwrtr Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Very cool. Congrats to all! Really looking forward to that TR! Quote
rbw1966 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Nice to see you guys getting some props. Good luck on the objective! Which windshirt are you taking? Quote
