fern Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Trip: Forbidden Peak - North Ridge Date: 7/1/2007 Trip Report: Boston Glacier is well filled in, many snow bridges and easy route finding. Snow is getting soft so wake up VERY early to profit any overnight crustiness, or else you may wallow and curse. It is a fun day in the mountains and great conditions now - why wait until August when it will be broken up and nasty? Quote

Off_White Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 That's been one of my favorite outings in the Cascades. It's not that the climbing is so brilliant or it's an earthshattering route, but the total package is such a delicious trip. Did you descend the West Ridge? That way down makes for a great circumnavigation of the peak. Thanks for the pics, the snowy ridge shot is just classic. Quote
skykilo Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Wow! NF Buckner looks like its already melted out for the season. Thanks for the pics  TROLL, it still looks skiable. Quote
tanstaafl Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Sorry Jim, I took no summit shots and my one shot of the rock is lousy. Maybe Fern has some good ones. Off, yeah we downclimbed and rapped the West Ridge. I was swearing a lot as I rapped six inches, threw the ropes, rapped six inches, threw the ropes....hah. Quote
