  2. I was in Mountain Rescue out of China Lake, CA in the late 70's. The Navy was very good about time off for rescues and even practice. They considered it good PR.Most of the people involved just loved the mountains and it served as an informal climbing club.

    BLOOD FOR OIL!!!

$400/bbl ol would be the last thing they want it is their source of $$$. They would no more raise the price to where folks would start looking fore alternatives than set up a circular firing squad, that is a our neocon specialty.
  4. Here is a recording of the little weasel bragging about getting the bus driver fired obviously he was either lying then or now
  5. money from an Estate is not taxed as income. Estate tax is only for estates larger than several million and a decent tax attorney can easily push it to 10 million or so. Another advantage is if it is appreciated property you get a stepped up basis reducing Capital gains tax when you sell it. Example my dad bought a acre of land for $500 when I got it value was 75k if I sell for 100k I only have to pay tax on the 25k gain. Trust me I'm a lawyer.

The person in charge of that operation was a young naval man by the name of Winston Churchill who the Aussies never forgave
  16. Lost Creek Ridge, Glacier Peak area North Side 4600' South Side 5300' exposed ridges bare.
  17. I went up Brecca Peak above Round Lake this weekend and got good looks at Sloan and Glacier. Bigley Gap is free of snow but you run into it about half way to the round Lake cutoff Round Lake is frozen and snow goes down toabout 4600' on north side and 5500' south side. Lost Creek Ridge is entirely snowcovered. The Sitcum Route is in fine shape but I could see no tracks due to closures. Sloan is in much better shape than last year but the River is extreemly high making access difficult to impossible Class 2 water. Lost Creek Ridge or Whitechuck Glacier would be very long approaches with lots of postholing.

Got back to my dorm and huge blisters appeared and stayed for a month could not wear regular glasses because of the swelling Then it pealed off and burnt again.

  24. I have never had a problem with a Pocket Rocket. In general they allow cartridge stoves but not cartridges. Lots of people have problems with liquid fueled stoves and containers unless unused.

PP sorry your metahpor makes no sense because your science is off. Copernicus http://www.blupete.com/Literature/Biographies/Science/Copernicus.htm propsed the heliocentric theroy which replaced the earlier earth centered view of the cosmos requiring the cycles and epicycles to reflect retrograde motion. Kepler corrected this theroy by establishing that planetary paths that are elipses are simpler.
