TeleRoss Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 ....was an epic failure. Except that I did get to ski 40 some miles and take a few cool photos. Quote
letsroll Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 that was a great story. we should have more TR's like this one Quote
kurthicks Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 the first thing I can think of with a ski like that is stuff in the Chiwawa area (Buck Mtn. comes to mind) and stuff far up past Colonial... interesting either way. Â Quote
TeleRoss Posted January 17, 2007 Author Posted January 17, 2007 Goddamned Thunder Creek valley   Skinning away the hours....   ...and skinning....   ....and skinning....   ....and skinnin....  ...until two days later we finally reach camp....which wasn't even as far as we had hoped to get in one day...   Park Creek Pass   Booker   After we had ruled out our first 10 objectives....we continued up to option #11   ....what was our objective...still so far away   Not a bad view   We'll be back! Quote
layton Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Hell yeah guys! Even if you didn't do your objective(s) it wasn't a failure, look at where you were!!!!!!! Â And an amazing photo Booker. That couloir we've all been eyein' don't look so steep from that photo.....but I bet it's rad nonetheless! Â Thanks for the pics and stoke! Quote
Alex Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 thanks for the pics, very scenic option 11 was logan? i thought you had already skied that Quote
rat Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 great effort. Â is the third photo the east face of tricouni? Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 F'n sweet pics  They'd make Scurlock have a double take!! Quote
Blake Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 You can ski up the Fremont Glacier to near the top of Logan from your camp spot at PcP. I know it wouldn't be a first, but it's still pretty rad. Plus Fred describes it as "Lovely Parklands." Quote
TeleRoss Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Yeah, Blake that's exactly what we did. We skied to pretty much the high spot of the Fremont Glacier, which is remarkably flat once you're over the moraine. Sky has a rad pic of me on the "summit pyramid" of the Fremont Glacier. Â Rolf..no it's not Tricouni...it's actually just a little sub-summit of Buckner...kinda like the ENE face. But the face is pretty big and gnarly lookin for sure. Â Mike...Yeah that couloir on Booker looks sweet! Someone needs to go get that for sure! have fun! Â Quote

Sky has a rad pic of me on the "summit pyramid" of the Fremont Glacier.   Ross, that flat spot atop the Fremont actually is a deep bowl (wind-scoop type thing) that fills up with water in the summers. I haven't seen a feature like it anywhere else. You can see it on the left side of this picture:  Fremont TR Edited January 18, 2007 by Blake Quote

Tony_Bentley Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 That little thing in the upper left corner looks so far away. It deserves a second descent. Quote

John_Scurlock Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Â They'd make Scurlock have a double take!! Â http://www.pbase.com/nolock/image/73778364 Â perhaps a little easier for me however. Quote
