  1. I spent $450 at the famous TNF sale.
  2. I hear GWB just got himself a new First Chef. I also hear the White House serves a mean miller lite with a side of blow.
  3. Damn, you guys are rockin' it this summer. Nice work and great pictures.
  4. I'll go witcha. But you get to pose as the girl. Do you climb? I thought you just did triathlons these days? Let's get after it! Will they let you into Canada after that "goat misunderstanding"?
  5. That climb looks great. Hey Michael, wanna make the third ascent of this thing with me?
  6. I'll take it. I'll email you with details.
  7. Well, I would, but I didn't get to the summit of my objective this weekend, so I'm a little bummed.

    Toenails

yeast=fungus Wrong. Did you flunk high school biology? You should prolly stick to chemistry there Dr. Science.
  9. I bet those Diablos (all black) are great on hot sunny days on the slabs eh? Whatever shoes fit you comfortably will be good all day shoes. I had high hopes for the scarpa marathons, but they don't fit me very well. I have a narrow foot. My boreal aces (now rotten and retired) were probably the best all day shoe I've used. If they still made the Huecos with the heel padding (like MisterE has), I think that would be a great shoe if they fit you.
  10. Not quite as much water ice when I did it as shown in your picture unfortunately. THAT LOOKS COOL! S.side of Hood on morning of 8/7/05 Picture of the descent gully.
  11. I climbed it 12 days ago. The route is considerably more difficult right now than it normally is. I would not recommend it if you want a mellow snow slog. Some ice climbing experience is probably a good prerequisite right now. Lots of scree walkin' to get to the snow. Route is fine up to the bergschrund. After that and through the pearly gates it's 60 degree ice with spots of water ice! (I used two screws) and delicate mixed climbing on blocks wedged in sand. We descended the west crater variation which would be a better ascent route right now. 50 degree ice. Bring lots of water. The sun is brutal.
  12. That's odd. I didn't have to register initially, but now that I go back, I do.
  13. There has been a lot of interesting grafitti showing up on the wall separating palestinian and israeli neighborhoods in the West Bank. Take this one for example: More Grafitti

Is "clearwire" some sort of internet access? I could tell the withdrawl symptoms were getting to you. Welcome back!
  15. Wow. Good TR. I'll make sure that one never gets near my "to do" list.
  16. Paranoid, over-protective, SUV-driving, soccer-
  17. Damn Ken, those pictures are great. Looks like a boatload of fun! I just ran into Josh and he said he's headed over there in December; I'm jealous. Maybe I'll have to come too!
  18. I'd say it's somewhere between "Fred Said 'No'" and "Airborne Ranger". Translation: It's healin' up, but I ain't sendin' anything cool for a while.
  19. A good book on this subject <-click
  20. Man what an awesome trip! Here are a few more pics: Another shot from the approach: More views: One of the easy pitches: Somewhere on pitch 10: The REAL summit:
  21. Wow. Fantastic. I had the privilege of visiting Art Davidson at his house a couple years ago and saw a bunch of his pictures from the first ascent of Kichatna Spire. Incredible. There was a lot more snow in his pictures. I remember that he remarked that the glaciers in that area have receeded quite a bit. He thought it might soon be difficult to land a plane in there. Did Paul Roderick say anything about that? Who needs patagonia when we've got the Kichatnas!? Do you happen to have any pictures of those 2' long black crystals? I'd like to see them. Any idea what they are made of?
