John_Scurlock Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'm a teeny bit confused. Do I need to get back in there & photograph the E face of ESE Mox?? & also the E face of SE Mox? Because that last one would be REALLY tough, getting in there between those pts. We're talking 90 deg. bank here, 50 ft above the col. YIKES!
forrest_m Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 let me add my voice to the chorus saying holy jesus and baby jesus! that was an intense read. sounds like a true partnership, both climbers totally relying on each other.
Ireneo_Funes Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 That was a fine adventure story, and I'm in awe looking at those pictures. Congratulations to both of you.
Blake Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 if i assume correctly that these are it as far as large unclimbed "distinguishable" faces go in the cascades. Â Â Â Â
layton Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 blake, there are a shitload of 1,500 foot faces and ridges still unclimbed in the cascades. i am fully awe of this. Â i'm talking the big mac daddies. what's the height of the big guys left? i know there's just armies of nerds reading this that know the answer w/o having to look it up.

jmace Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I think Klenke is just verbalising probably what a lot of other people are thinking and you shouldnt let it take away from your climb, and it sounds as if it hasnt since you dont climb for nothin but fun. I think the great debate of summitting and accomplishng a major portion of a route and claiming FA's will always be an area of debate. But probably better to take that to another thread and to keep this one about your major and awesome accomplishment  Cheers
plexus Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 let me add my voice to the chorus saying holy jesus and baby jesus! that was an intense read. sounds like a true partnership, both climbers totally relying on each other. Â Don't forget, 'Thank you Jesus!!" Â I cannot even fathom that thing. I am always impressed on how far we can push the human body and psyche. And I can honestly say I will be quite happy with my view of Mox from other more attainable summits in the N Cascades. Â I'll raise a pint to the two of you tonight!!
robertjoy Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Inspiring tale, I have had this photo of Mox Peak as my desktop for the last few months. This was not taken by me!
Stefan Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Congratulations. Â IMO One of the top 3 achievements in the past 3 years. Â Sick.
jordop Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I award your line the inaugural PIOLET DE PUKE Â
wayne Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Incredible climb and effort Mike And Eric! According to Alex Lowes description you are the best climber in the world !
layton Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 nice. Â rat's hyperbole is the greatest compliment one could recieve.
Der_Wanderer Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Gad. I don't even feel like I'm worthy of saying, "Kick Axe Job!"
skykilo Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 stick a fork in me. i'm done. Â As someone who has said the same thing, I would like to call bullshit right now. You probably already feel better. Â Great TR!
specialed Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Shit man, I'll wait for the telepherique to be built before I go in there. Â Extremely impressive effort considering the approach and the climb by themselves would be considered total sufferfests. Sick, for sure, bitches!!!
Cairns Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Out there. glad you made it back okay. appreciate the use of big colorful runners for photography and maybe morale. great photo of 'Mike fully committed' with the peaceful U-valley below. but what the hell were you headed for in that shot?
Mr._Natural Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 i would also like to give out some tugs, inspiring!
