we really should let the wheels of justice determine of these people are guilty or not. they are suspects until proven guilty.

Two words: O J

here's a couple more words from Mos Def on that

You can laugh and criticize Michael Jackson if you wanna

Woody Allen, molested and married his step-daughter

Same press kickin dirt on Michael's name

Show Woody and Soon-Yi at the playoff game, holdin hands

Sit back and just bug, think about that

Would he get that type of dap if his name was Woody Black?

O.J. found innocent by a jury of his peers

And they been fuckin with that nigga for last five years

Is it fair, is it equal, is it just, is it right?

Do you do the same shit when the defendent face is white?

If white boys doin it, well, it's success

When I start doin, well, it's suspect

bill, while this thing is a horrible, horrible thing that happened to the skier (and his family), we really should let the wheels of justice determine of these people are guilty or not. they are suspects until proven guilty. there are times when people get thrown under the bus and police get lied to....these guys are suspects. by all means turn them in if you come across them, but its a little early to hang anybody.

The suspected alleged assholes/suspected lowlifes have made the "Americas Most Wanted".

'America's Most Wanted' recreates attack on skier near Washougal

01:05 PM PDT on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 By kgw.com Staff

Father-son suspects in attack

"WASHOUGAL, Wash. -- ‘America’s Most Wanted’ is recreating a brutal carjacking that almost killed a Washington man at a forest campground last month. Kevin Tracey, 52, was beaten, robbed and left for dead during a cross-country ski outing near Washougal on February 9. Background: Skier beaten

Police say 33-year-old Michael Collins and 16-year-old Teven Collins beat Tracey with a wooden club, dragged his body into the woods and stole his black Ford Explorer and wallet. Skamania County detectives said Wednesday that they were working with the United States Marshal’s Service and a film crew from the show ‘America’s Most Wanted,’ interviewing people and recreating the crime.

Michael Collins is a sex offender with an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to meet his requirements to register. Police consider the suspects armed and dangerous. Tracey's vehicle, checkbook, wallet and several credit cards were stolen in the attack, according to Skamania County authorities. Court records suggest the pair used Tracey's Visa card in Washington, Madras, Ore., and Lathrop, Calif. Police believe the suspects may also be traveling in Tracey’s 1998 black Ford Explorer SUV. The vehicle had Washington registration and plates at the time it was carjacked. The plate numbers were 455-YHY. Skamania County Detectives are asking people who may have information in this case to contact them at (509) 427-9490.

The episode will air March 21."

Off topic perhaps, but the day the news published this, there was a parade of unmarked police cars with sirens and lights that blasted down SH 14 towards Washogal about 1:30 pm or so. A grey pickup truck with grey canopy, total civy rig except for the police lights hidden inside, followed by a black expedition or blazer, then 3 more 5 min later, then 2 more -mostly black. So total of 7 unmarked civilian looking rigs. Full lights and sirens. Last time I'd seen this kind of action, the feds had arrested an Al Qaeda cell in Beaverton and the parade was heading to the justice center.

Edited: found it, it was a robbery of Lacamas Credit union at noon by a bomb carrying robber, they chased him up Washogal river road and he crashed. He still had a bomb in the car and they detained him till 3pm. http://columbian.com/article/20090319/NEWS02/703199992/-1/NEWS

"A man with a homemade bomb allegedly robbed a Washougal credit union shortly after noon Wednesday and led police on a 70 mph chase up Washougal River Road, police said. The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed his car, which flipped onto its top and trapped him inside. Fearing that an explosive device was in the car, officers waited several hours for a bomb squad to show up and remove the device before extricating and detaining the man...."...more click link.

Damn....It makes one wonder where all those unmarked police are sitting all day out in the middle of no where.... Bonneville Dam?

America's Most Wanted broadcast pays off. Finally, a little bit of better news!

From this morning's (03/26/09) Seattle Times:

Fugitives in attack on skier captured in Mexico

A man and his son, both fugitives being sought for the vicious attack on cross-country skier Robert Kevin Tracey in Skamania County, were apprehended this morning in Ensenada, Mexico.

By Seattle Times staff

A man and his son, both fugitives being sought for the vicious attack on cross-country skier Robert Kevin Tracey in Skamania County, were apprehended this morning in Ensenada, Mexico.

Michael David Collins, 33, and his son, Teven David Collins, 16, were tracked by Mexican State authorities, with help from a U.S. Marshal's task force, the Skamania County Sheriff's office said.

The suspects were charged in arrest warrants with attempted first-degree murder and robbery. Tracey's black 1998 Ford Explorer, with Washington license 455YHY, was stolen in the Feb. 9 attack near Dougan Falls in Skamania County and has not been found.

The sheriff's office said a tip, which came after a segment about the case was aired on the "America's Most Wanted" TV show Saturday night, helped lead authorities to the fugitives. The two are being deported back to Washington state.

Update! the son of the alleged father feels bad and will testify against his alleged dad. Turns out that the kids myspace page ratted him out.

http://www.kgw.com/news/national/Teen-expected-to-testify-against-dad-in-brutal-attack-on-skier.html

"PORTLAND, Ore. -- The teen accused, along with his father, of a brutal attack and carjacking on a cross country skier last year in the Columbia Gorge has agreed to testify against his dad as part of a plea deal.

Michael and Teven Collins previously pleaded not guilty in court. They face first degree attempted murder and robbery charges. The pair stands accused of brutally attacking cross-country skier Robert Kevin Tracey, of Washougal, on February 9th, 2009 and leaving him for dead in the snow.

Police say the Collins' beat Tracey with a wooden club, dragged his body into the woods and stole his black Ford Explorer and wallet.

Teven pleaded guilty Friday and his sentencing was expected Thursday.

The father and son were captured in Mexico and then extradited to Portland.

“He (Teven) is sick of living a lie. He wants to look the victim in the eye and say he’s sorry, “ said Randy Krog, Teven Collins’ attorney. “It’s going to be hard (to testify against his dad) but he wants to do the right thing.“

"It's a situation where it's my job to make sure justice is done," said prosecutor Christopher Lanz.

Lanz cannot discuss the details of the case against the Collins. He did, however, talk to KGW about the process of prosecuting such a high-profile pair. Lanz said he expects to double the prospective jury pool in the event the case goes to trial.

Victim struggling with emotions

"I was relieved that they werent on the run anymore," he said "Right now I need to focus on being a good witness and making sure the public is not subjected to any more crimes by these two," Travey told KGW.

A tip from an 'America's Most Wanted' TV show episode led police to 33-year-old Michael and 16-year-old Teven, who were missing since early February.

If Teven Collins had not logged into this Myspace account, investigators would have never known he was in Mexico, according to Skamania County Sheriff Dave Brown.

The moment Collins logged in, he left a virtual fingerprint for investigators. "Myspace would have a record, the isp he used would have a record, if he used a phone service to get to that isp they would have a record," Portland State University professor and computer forensic expert Craig Schiller told KGW.

"It's kind of like a jigsaw puzzle together," Skamania Sheriff spokesman Dave Brown said. "This is a huge piece of that puzzle and were going to turn that corner now and hopefully we can get them back here and we can start the processes in the court.

Marshals had been monitoring the MySpace accounts of the father and son and knew they were in Ensenada, Mexico, but not exactly where until a tip came in. Flanked by heavy guards, the two were taken in to custody at a home in Ensenada Wednesday morning and later, across the border.

Michael Collins was also a sex offender with an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to meet his requirements to register.

Let's make him moderate spray.
LOL! A fate worse than death!

the creaky wheel gets the grease. Conviction overturned on the formerly alleged but later convicted dickhead. I guess technically he is only an "alleged" dickhead now, since he wasn't "really" convicted.

"Authorities tracked down Michael Collins, and his son Teven, in Mexico and brought them back to Washington state to face charges. Both were convicted and sent to prison, but one of the crimes the older Collins was convicted of is attempted first degree felony murder. It is a nonexistent crime in the state of Washington. As a result, the Washington State Court of Appeals vacated the conviction."

Convicting someone of a crime that doesn't exist is a major screw up. I seriously doubt this guy will walk... he'll continue to serve time on his robbery conviction and will probably be retried. He'll still serve several years.

Exactly! How the hell does a prosecuting attorney screw up the charging documents that heinously??? :noway:

Tracey said he is concerned about the community should Collins be released anytime soon.

"There's no question in my mind that the first opportunity this guy gets he'll attack and harm another person," said Tracey.

Precisely. Y'all better start packing in Skamania County...

Question: If we encounter Michael Collins, can we beat him with a wooden club and leave him for dead? Would that be fair?
