rr666 Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 Rope-up did rock. Finally got to meet and see all you people out there, and can now put real faces to those names. Had a great time on Outerspace, one of the best climbs around, and enjoyed a day cragging at the Pearly Gates, and of course drank some beer. Thanks TG, that was some damn good sh*t. Quote

ivan Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 ditto on beer thanks, TG lessons learned from weekend: 1. get the wife hammered enough and she'll sleep anywhere w/o complaints 2. despite all evidence to the contrary, it is not "all good" for some folks 3. being equipped w/ a lighter and nothing else sure can come in handy 4. natural ebullience = i must be on speed to most good weekend enjoy your respective livers Quote

Highlander Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 It was a good weekend. Cragged at Midnight Rock on Saturday with Jens and Texplorer. Sunday: Texplorer and mader our way up Outer Space at Warp Speed. Nice to put some faces to the Avatars. Quote
Dru Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 3 hr approach (not much bush)...beautiful mountain...first ascent of 400m, 45-50 degree snow couloir (perfect styrofoam)...first recorded ascent of peak 8500+ (no cairn on either summit)...downclimb north glacier...solo down 100m 50-55 degree blue glacier ice...mind exploding...3 hour bushwack out by headlamp...no free beer oh wait its cause i wasnt at rope up! good to hear y'all had fun. I almost saw a cougar, we found some fresh tracks in the mud by a lake. Only saw 1 all day long. Quote
Greg_W Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 Had a blast this weekend climbing and hanging out and meeting all you fellow gapers. First time on Outer Space - that thing rocks. I agree with AlpineK that Scot'arget is an extreme pussy for not showing up. I don't smoke pot, but if I was in the Muir Hut and I knew Scott was there I'd think about taking it up. Quote

mattp Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 Sorry, I had left the "www" out of the URL. You're too fast for me, Dru - trying the link before I even had time to test it. Go back to work! [ 10-21-2002, 10:37 AM: Message edited by: mattp ] Quote
iain Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 when will you realize that Dru is just a script sitting on this site that auto-responds to every third post? Jon I think we can disable it now, it seems to be working even better than expected. Quote
