kurthicks Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 my goal is to do anything that will make me a more complete climber. yea, it will involve working out, but the is staying. it includes getting into aid climbing, becoming faster on the sharp end, skiing harder, falling further, gym training, bouldering, reading, being tent bound, more 1000 mile driving weekends, less bitching, long approaches, and graduating and having more time to climb... Â And, of course, spending more time in the muir hut Quote

dkemp Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Starting a new climbing club (I'm serious!), - more on this soon. Â Making my left tele-turn look as good as my right teleturn. Â Lead Saber, lead a bunch of stuff... Â Clear up all the confusion I've left in my wake. Leave no new confusion in my wake. Is this one clear? Quote

texplorer Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Unleash the fury of a new fully operational crack jamming fool upon routes at the Creek, the Valley, and a little place called Index. Quote
iain Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 "-se couloir of tfj"Â When? leaving in 5 minutes....just kidding. probably would be a good time right now though eh? Though I bet it slides, and getting to that couloir means traversing that death slope on the east side. Anyway, I hope to get in there soon. The start looks like the hardest part. Quote
Fejas Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 You gonna start from the slope, or us the ledge that runs along the majority of the SE side? Quote
skykilo Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 -wyeast ski, finally Yeah, love that Wy'east. Â As for myself, I want to ski every possible descent in the mountains of the northwest. I might not finish this year, but it's a general goal that motivates me from day to day. Quote
iain Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 skykilo: go get sandy headwall  fejas: I've no idea, I have not had a good look at it in winter. I was just blurting it out, stop making me think about details! Sounds like you have done some recon though. Quote
Fejas Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 skykilo: go get sandy headwall fejas: I've no idea, I have not had a good look at it in winter. I was just blurting it out, stop making me think about details! Sounds like you have done some recon though.  Not during the winter. Just been on it a bunch of times most of witch where weekend trips, so a lot of play was had on different opptions and from the south ridge there is a ledge that runs 50-60 ft above the slope all the way over to the perposed route your thinkin of... but like i said I haven't been up there this time of year. the conditions sound sketch on that slope, bein the weather and snow accumulation in all... Cheers mate ! Quote
skykilo Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 The eternal mantra is, "I'll go take a look for myself." No offense intended, but I consider everything speculation without firsthand observation. Also, Yocum Ridge would always be a bailout possibility, right? Quote
Sabertooth Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 Jam some harder cracks, pull down on some smaller crimpers, get a lot stronger at slopers, send more waterfall ice with this great weather, and of cource my favorite, more steep alpine snow and ice routes. Oh wait, one more, less faceplants while skiing. Quote
klenke Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 He Devil, Martin. He Devil. I'll be climbing it this summer. If you'd like to try and put up a technical route with me, let me know. Not too far a drive from Spokane for you. Quote
Sabertooth Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 That sounds great man. Potential for lots of new lines down there. The last time I looked at Tom Lopez's book, I remembered seeing potential FAs on each of the 7 Devils. We could hit Tower of Babel or something else too. Quote
