I can see where the Tracker might cost a bit more, but the Pieps and Ortovox are basically just simple transceivers! Wow, what technology! Major research $$$ to be recouped! Â Good post Iain. Quote

nonanon Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 Sometimes money costs too much. (i know... emerson?) Â How can a parka cost more than a tent? Unit sales volume? Doesn't seem likely. Material costs? Manufacturing costs? Â Quote
cracked Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 Try sewing your own gear sometime. You'll quickly figure out why some gear costs more than others. Gloves, for example. Sewing a expedition down coat will take a HELL of a lot of work due to all the small parts that have to be sewn together correctly. Â -college Quote

Oh well on my death bed I will not not regret having not lived to the fullest) 5.CD's ( I burn other peoples to save $ for fun) 6.Good quality tea and coffee The list could go on but why. Perhaps you are correct and gas should be more expensive than it is? If the price of gas factored in all of the hell that we must go through to get it, as well as environmental damages involved, it would be significantly more expensive! What monetary price should we put on war, the loss of human life, oil spills, etc... Â Quote
