Seems like it wasn't even the climbers who "needed rescue" that called in the chopper. Probably this makes it even worse, and needs more internet armchair discussion.

Interesting that it is "twice as burl", but the Integral Designs tents made of the stuff are listed as lighter than the same tents in eVent. Usually burl = weight.... Well that was incorrect...it is the opposite except for one of the tents...the Chock Solo (vs Chock Solo FR).

Sucks you lost your stuff....was any of the gear marked in anyway such that it is uniquely identifiable? I didn't read the whole thread, maybe you mentioned this already. Just in case some one on here runs across a crack junkie hocking some gear out of the back of their trunk.

So who has one of these, how long have you had it, and how it is holding up? I fondled one in a climbing shop the other day, they seem really nice and comfortable. I know it passed all the UIAA tests, but i wonder since it doesn't have a hard shell, how does it take a blow as compared to a hardshell? I see that it will deform on a blow, and then it will retract to its original shape...which is cool, but what about my head?

Demographically, it would be interesting to see the break down of climbing guides that male assholes, vs. female assholes, vs male nice guys, etc.
