  1. I don't know anything about this brand: http://www.salewa.us/footwear/mountaineering actually i do remember them, but not recently. probably worth checking them out.
  2. Just common sense here, but I would go and try on as many different makes of boots as possible and just pick the one that feels the best. For me I love the design of La Sportiva, but the Scarpa fit slightly better. Also I believe Kayland makes great boots too.
  3. No kidding! Well on your way to the top 10 in TRs Tom, and with great quality too.
  4. are those paintings in the background? did you do them?
  5. It doesn't sound like you guys suffered enough. You should probably do the climb over again in crappy weather and when the days are shorter. nice TR!
  6. Nice! My bro lives in Wrangell...I posted pics from a similar sight seeing flight up I did up there a while back. It is incredible territory, if you ever go back let me know and maybe I can talk my brother into taking you up to the hot tubs or something. He has a jetboat.
  7. Congrats on the climb guys! Love dat Toof. Here is to the start of your alpine climbing life!
  8. Sweet Kev, bring on the pics!
  9. Wow looks like an incredible trip and the weather was perfect! Congrats Tom, thanks for yet another treasure trove of pictorial stoke.
  10. BTW, he went by "Rainman" here on CC.com. Super nice guy online and in person.
  11. Wow. You and Rolf are pretty much my heroes. The Baller Bros.
  12. terrible news. I knew Chris from the Washington Climbers Coalition...super nice guy.
  13. Bike was stolen because the thief lost his job when the company he worked for needed to cut costs after reporting losses due to changing weather patterns. GLOBAL WARMING IS TO BLAME CASE CLOSED.
  14. I blame magnets.
  15. until its released here is an old NY Times piece [video:youtube]U8y0aNlbBSk
  16. Well lets talk about nuclear pollution in the Pacific now.
  17. Hopefully this fire can be put out before it burns up all the climbing routes...that would be a huge loss!
  18. That Gorilla tape works great. Great pictures and TR. I'm aiming to do this trip with my son who will be 13 next year. I'm due to make it, I've only been thinking about it for 20 years or more. I've done that catwalk part in the snow one winter as a part of a very long day hike...i suppose that made it easier because it didn't seem a big deal. Inspiring TR, thank you.
  19. sounds like a great adventure.
  20. Awesome! Thank you for sharing. What a trip. Thats funny about the Kerouac fans...I wonder how many people go up there for that reason.
  21. did you scan this in? i see Chaps gets a special mention.
