Mormon kids love to murder people with rocks. Same thing happened to friends of mine in the Bitterroots about 20 years ago. Definate words were exchanged with the wilding kids on top. They made it clear that they intended to smash my friends. After rapping out of the way and running down to the trailhead with the intention of running up and kicking some a$$, they ran into a sherrif. They told him what happened and he assured them he would look into it. He did not file a report of any kind. One member of the climbing party was the daughter of a senator from back east. The wheels of justice started turning and an investigation was started. Turns out, one of the kids was the son of the sherrif. They were all Mormons and not one of the kids, parents or sherriffs department ever issued anything even remotely resembling an apology. Killing people for sport is apparently OK with many Mormons in and around Darby Montana. Utah sounds just as bad.

Get to the ranger station in Leavenworth by 7:45AM for the lottery and you have a good chance of getting a spot. It is looking pretty good this year. I recommend this style for this spot. Many do it in a day but why not spend some time at a stellar location soaking up the views?

It does not take much work to pick your way around those cliffs in order to avoid leaving slings. Also bury your shit and pee on big rocks so the goats don't dig it up for the salt and kill a bunch of plants in the process. Flame on.

Cool. Also, just because it came up once before, don't "test" the system by jumping downhill nor into holes. People can get hurt in a fall. The most common injury is broken ankles right above the boot.

Add sunscreen and put it on before the effects set in.......

Josh, Find the story written by the guy who fell in a crevasse and pulled his buddy in too. The first guy in was slowed down by the second. But the second guy fell far and died quickly. Two on a rope is not all that safe unless you have some training, practice, and luck. Good luck out there.

The return of Jammin? I don't read Tazz as flaming so much as trying to prevent injury. I remember trying to do that with Jamin and one other guy whose name I do not remember. Hang in there Tazz.

Drove up to WA pass and did some scrambling with full gear. A friend is learning how to lead so we did the S Arete of SEWS placing gear as though it mattered. Next, we did the Becky route on LB. It worked out quite well. I recommend the scenario for leader training.
