glassgowkiss Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 The site lost it's luster from the early 80's, but what totally pissed me off is seeing banners advertising guns. Sorry, but I will not support gun industry. If anyone here wants to get hold of me, you can do it via email or fb. Quote
ivan Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 funny, mine's trying to get me to buy a car right now - but....don't cars kill even more people than guns? Quote
AlpineK Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 All I see is Facebook Like, Tweet, G+1, and +Share. That's what I get for using Add Blocker. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 The banners Bob usually gets were selling soiled women's panties. Now it's guns. What is the world coming to? Quote
JasonG Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Typically ads are targeted based on your web history...... Quote

I know that I have never looked for guns on the interest and yet I still see the ads for the outdoor retailer with guns that Bob speaks of. I really doubt that Bob has gone shopping in cabela's. Pete_H Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I'm sure just talking or debating about gun laws online does the trick. Didn't know the site, or the internet for that matter, had been around since the 80's though. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I have enjoyed this site since the 80's. That's two 40's, as in "Edward 40 Hands" Quote

I look at John Oliver show and therefore I am a gun enthusiast? what connection could a gun avoider have that convinces a business that I need a gun? Â Quote
Ben Beckerich Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 https://support.google.com/ads/answer/1634057?hl=en  Fucken enlighten yourself - this shit is known, bro. It's not new. It's not arcane.  Oly has absolutely no control over what stupid shit shows up on your stupid ass computer due to your own stupid ass browsing habits. All those piss-pants anti-gun articles you read? Might have something to do with it. "Gun" is still "gun," google probably doesn't give a shit if it loosens your bowls or gets your dick hard - they just recognize your interest.  I'm willing to bet, however, it has a lot more to do with the SPORTING factor - outdoor enthusiasts.... climbers, hunters, fishermen. Can you believe it?? They're all outdoor sports. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Shit fuck damn, that is some thoughtful fucking shit, damn, asshole, dumbfuck. Quote

Actually, if you're seeing that banner, it represents some money they have to spend that ISN'T being used to make or sell a gun. So keep hitting refresh and screw their bottom line. Quote
dougd Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Hard to believe you'd leave all this over a little gun ad man... Â The upside tho is this thread has cc.com record potential! Â d Quote
