AlpineK
Ok well I'm not really drunk, but I did go out and have my first beer in almost exactly one year. I got the go ahead from the doctors today, so I got a friend to take me out to the Wedgewood Ale House for a drink. :moondance: They told me to keep it to one drink a day, but I'm pretty god damn happy. The next thing you know I'll be driving.

TrogdortheBurninator
So what kind of beer was it?
pope
Just think of this as part of your rehab. You're not quite 100% until your liver is back in shape. But seriously, whatever you do take it easy and enjoy the opportunity to wake up to see a new day.
layton
I'm raisin' my Pabst to ya Kurt!
AlpineK
So what kind of beer was it? It was an IPA. I'm a big fan of that kind of beer. It was a Wildcat made by the Snoqualmie brewery.
minx
hey kurt-- they sell the wildcat IPA in 22oz bottles also. maximize your one beer a day!

mattp
They told me to keep it to one drink a day... Doctors are always saying stuff like that. Next they'll tell you that smoking is bad for you or that you should wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle.

AlpineK
and btw, good job on being such a well behaved patient! I wish I could remember some of the stuff when I was first in the hospital, but by all accounts I was saying some pretty funny stuff. Robby lived next door to us here in Sequim for several years. Never saw him wear a helmet, but saw him drinking a lot of beers. Bottoms up, AlpineK! They say people with such injuries are quite "uninhibited" at that point in their recoveries.
olyclimber
Nice work Kurt. Best of luck in reconditioning your liver to accept the punishment that we all know it deserves. I have pummeled my liver in to submission since my illness, and clearly after getting coddled with dialysis it needed a good beating. fenderfour
At this time, I am not drunk and I'm coming to the realization that today would have been better if I were inebriated.
