Creeks and rivers that drain from snowfields usually rise during the day as snow melts, and drop again at night. Rising waters may wash away your beers, which are pretty close to neutral buoyancy, even without human intervention. I lost beer in the Sierras in this way years ago. If people really stole it that's sad, but just means you need to find a better stashing spot, forego ritual swilling, or be willing to drink warm beer like the hardier brits.

ya...could be. but there was a natural pool below where it was stashed. I don't think it would float away. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, knowing someone on the wall that day jacked me. Or, if it did float away, my bad.

Good question. Guess I could leave some pabst. They probably wouldn't get stolen in the first place.

nonsense - i've taken worse, and far warmer too i'd bet :)

Merely sarcasm. Although I think Washingtonians have better taste for beer. ;) What's with the beer theft? Is it a tradition I don't know of? I've heard of it happening but didn't know it was common. You gonna rifle my pack too because I left it at the base?

I pretty sure it was the Hamm's bear. Since Hamm's is no longer made the bear was looking to booty some similar tasting shit.

The experts say you should drink alcohol until you're fully recovered. Someone was just watching out for you.
Judging by this comment, I think you must have found the beer and drank all of it?
