olyclimber Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Why do you neglect the opium coming from Afghanistan? BTW huge quantities are probably domestic or from Canada. I've always heard the product from Mexico is inferior. I'm obviously not an expert though. Quote
murraysovereign Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I don't blame the "druggies" nearly as much as I blame the idiotic legislation that makes the drug trade so lucrative that people are willing to kill in order to maintain or extend their control over small parts of that trade. Blaming the drug consumer for the gang murders in Mexico is like blaming the drinkers for all the mob murders that occurred under prohibition. The problem then wasn't the drinking: it was the criminalization of drinking. The problem now isn't the smoking: it's the criminalization of smoking. As happened with Prohibition, eliminate the criminalization, and most of the problems would be eliminated, too. Quote

Pete_H Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 The occasional white-collar MJ toker is really the root cause of global terrosism and violence? Well done, FW. Strong work. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 The occasional white-collar MJ toker is really the root cause of global terrosism and violence? Well done, FW. Strong work. As a self styled wannabe ubermensch, I think FW would prefer that the occasional blue collar MJ toker be targeted by the authorities. And the occasional unemployed MJ toker? Death by oogle. Quote

Bug Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Hemp was one of the most profitable comodities in the world for centuries. Then one day, someone figured out that it would be even more profitable on the black market. Dingbats and drivelLords make these laws. The outcome is violent crime over money. At least the pharmecutical companies don't control it. Then the Reblicons would be behind it 100%. Quote

ivan Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 kinda hard to sleep well too fartwedder w/ weed growing in your basement when you live in a police state that is eager to kick your door in and seize all of your property, including your house, for the awful, awful crime you're committing down there - anyway it's not like, given the choice, folks are gonna buy that there foreign brown bud when they can get some of ore-gone's phinest! Fairweather Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 Gotta agree with you on police seizures. Ties in well with the Charles Tilly piece I sent you. Fartwedder? You're up early. Tell me you're not going to ski in the rain... Quote
Fairweather Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 ...except for meth cookers. The very bottom rung. No value whatsoever. They need a short trial and a bullet in the head. Quote
ivan Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 solo aiding in the damp, damp, damp i find opining on another man's drug is a lot like opining on another man's god - it's your businness whatever silliness you want to believe in - just leave my gas tank alone, eh? its ironic that you deplore the fascist banishment of dissidents but enthuisatically accept the show trial/speedy execution concept - kinda pick'n'choose'n' from the salad bar of state? tvashtarkatena Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I've known several folks with meth and/or crack problems. Call me crazy, but my inclination was not to put a bullet in their heads. Just folks, like anyone else, with an addiction problem. No, my inclination was to hope they got some help at some point. Quote
