JosephH
NOAA La Nina forecast - good for you alpine types, sucks for rock however. The lower image is the pertinent one... Edited September 30, 2007 by JosephH

AlpineK
It looks like the ideal forecast to me. Hey Joseph get a pair of skis or go south and stay there.
Bug
I see the "dry" blob starts at J Tree More like Tuscon. Mt Lemmon is great tho.
Frikadeller
It looks like the ideal forecast to me. I was sitting here, thinking the same thing.
kevbone
I just heard on the radio it is supposed to rain all of October. Interesting.
ivan
I just heard on the radio it is supposed to rain all of October. Interesting. shit, if'n'it do that the month after we could maybe write a song about it? but someone's gonna need a really big fucking snake if we'll be making a music vid-e-o for it too - and stupid hats - and victoria secret whores who mentally abuse us! JayB
But will the snowpack on the East suck any less than last year. This is the question...
KaskadskyjKozak
But will the snowpack on the East suck any less than last year. This is the question... "this is the question"... for you maybe... :-)
Off_White
Hard to tell from that chart Jay, but it does seem to suggest that you'll be getting a little more of the polar jet stream, so here's hoping you get a decent winter to help tide you over until you can come home. JosephH
Will be in Albequerque on and off all winter working so I guess I'll be shifting my climbing to the Sandia Mtns for the time being...
Greta
Will be in Albequerque on and off all winter working so I guess I'll be shifting my climbing to the Sandia Mtns for the time being... Youd better learn how to spell Albuquerque then And hey, theyve got skiing on the lee side of that there crest. Check it out!
plexus
I was just about to say that. I remember visiting my dad down there when I was a kid and going rock climbing on a Friday and going skiing and getting sunburnt on Saturday.
JosephH
They should just shorten it to Albe and call it good - or Albuquerky. Next week the Sandias, Red Rocks two weeks after that...
murraysovereign
But will the snowpack on the East suck any less than last year. This is the question... Well, if it doesn't, and if you and the wife decide to hit Whistler again, there's a spare room at my place you're welcome to use. JayB
I'm off to knock off a 7-11 and donate some plasma to fund the excursion as we speak... If want, privation, or any other misfortune should compel you to visit Boston at any point before next July, we'll gladly reciprocate. Seriously though - we're contemplating a return to Squistler for the annual get-away in early March, so we'll be in touch if it pans out. gertlush
Luvly jubly, if it keeps hosing down like it is in Squish right now then I'll be skiing this weekend!
cj001f
If by East you mean the Alps, they've had snow already 50cm of freshiez on the Stubai after the last storm
Off_White
La Nina isn't doom, really wet and really warm is doom.
Crillz
Locals call it the 'Burque. Spoken as Burrrr-Kay. The ski area is Sandia Peak Ski area and, in short, sucks. I've never climbed in the Sandias, but now that I don't live there, I'd like to go back and climb there a bit (probably just for a bit though). AlpineK
I've never climbed in the Sandias either, but I hear they're good. Any true northwesterner would love the wet cold and snow. If you don't like upcoming weather get out and stay out Joseph.
JosephH
I am definitely not a "Nothwesterner" and I'd have been gone a long time ago if we could move my stepdaughter out-of-state.
hafilax
Will be in Albequerque on and off all winter working so I guess I'll be shifting my climbing to the Sandia Mtns for the time being... Is that where Bugs always makes the wrong turn? I spent some time in Los Alamos and saw some climbing there between White Rock and LA. Placing gear looked a little sketchy but the bolted routes looked pretty good. I hear Taos is a good resort but they're still in the Dark Ages and don't allow snowboards (unless you fool them with a split board). I'm looking forward to some snow. billcoe
If you don't like upcoming weather get out and stay out Joseph. I don't know you Feck, but that post makes you out to be a bit of a rude bastard which you just confirmed via PM. Joseph, when the winter hits and people up here are praying for the endless 36 degree rains to stop, post a TR of some warm Sandia or other New Mexican climbs will ya. Keep the stoke alive. Best part of Albuquerque is the plentiful Turquoise and Peyote Buds. Good memories. Edited October 8, 2007 by billcoe
