snugtop
"Complications" by Atul Gawande That book briefly convinced me the burn on my leg was getting infected with flesh-eating bacteria. Hypochondria aside, a very good read.

Norman_Clyde
"The Worst Journey in the World." It's the best adventure book in the world. Don't be daunted by its bulk. It grabbed me in the first pages and didn't let go.

Mos_Chillin
Dan Brown's prequel to "The DaVici Code", Angels and demons is a fun read for light stuff. Check out anything by Jim Harrison or David James Duncan. Cochise, by Peter Aleshire is a great story, and I always recommend reading Gaviotas: A village To Reinvent The World by Alan Weisman to get your spirit of humanity back. Also, thanks to the person on this site who earlier recommended "King Leupolds Ghost", great book. Good luck with the rehab.
sill
I'm going through the same thing right now, laid up with a knee injury. It's amazing how many books you can go through when you've got time on your hands. Bringing Down the House- a good story Let My People Go Surfing The brand new book by Bob Woodward about the Irag War- it's supposed to be really good- I think it's called State of Denial?
