ChrisT Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 Not to hijack your thread or anything but I just made a kickass supper - Chicken Cacciatore with gemelli, peas and garlic toast. Man i totally outdid myself! Quote
b-rock Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 In Portland, Cha Ba Thai on Sandy. Better than much of the Thai food I had in Thailand. Quote
dbb Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 whole lot of that is seattle, but my fav's are:  Thai-ger Room Thai Tom  very simmilar food, heard that Thai-ger room was started by Thai Tom owner's ex-SO. She takes the menu, expands it and opens almost the same resteraunt that much closer to the UW. Quote
bobbyperu Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 thai tom for sure... the original! go on wed, fri, or sat to see the man in action. you'll wait to sit, but its worth it... try the garlic-pepper, or panang...-yum  if yer vegan, or don't do fish sauce try arrayas up the street, they have a sweet lunch buffet too. the faux chix (tofu) satays with peanut sauce are real good.  in ballard thaiku is awesome...wednesday nites go later, sit in the bar and hear Hans Teuber, one of seattles premier sax players with a group of drums bass piano and guests... the cocktails there are wild too... ask the bartender about the specials to make you peak...  in b-ham, busara gets my vote... for garlic lovers the gai busara will deliver... Figger_Eight Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 Thai Tom Kaosamai in Fremont is good too. Orappin on Queen Anne is still my favorite though. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 The little house joint in Fremont's pretty delectable, as is Racha on Lower Queen Anne. Â It kinda depends on what you get too. Try Larb Gai (with extra cabbage!) at Racha, along with any curry, with Papaya salad. Â "Why thank you. I think I will tonight!" Quote
Stefan Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 If you are in the Federal Way area: There's a place north of 320th on Highway 99. Best I have found in my area. Â Order the Thai Crepe. Quote
Off_White Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Thai Crepe? Sounds like it ought to come with avocado and roasted hazelnuts, with just a drizzle of bittersweet chocolate sauce. Quote
EWolfe Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Sea Thai on 45th is quite good as well. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Sea Thai's ok, but I think the cook has a drinking problem, and some sort of mood disorder, cuz it can go from real high to real low real fast. Quote
Doug Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Sea-Tac - Bai Tong  Lynnwood - Talay Thai Quote
bigwalling Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Sea Thai's ok, but I think the cook has a drinking problem, and some sort of mood disorder, cuz it can go from real high to real low real fast. Â That is probably dependend of how much puke is in the food. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 good thai food? just about all thai food is good!!! Â i like most of the ones i've been to around here - they all have something or other going for them depending on your mood. thai tom, kwanjai, sea thai, racha, tawon, jai thai, siam on broadway, the place across from siam on broadway, little thai, noodle ranch, thai ginger ... countless others as the list goes on. Â the latest new one i tried is toi (downtown) -- and i have to say YUM! of course, my bf also makes some pretty damned fine thai food, too. Quote
RuMR Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 yer biased...therefore yer opinion don't count! Quote
bobbyperu Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 i checked a little place out last nite on lower queen anne called tup tim thai or somethin like that...good stuff, but as was said earlier thai food is good food, i've rarely been dissapointed, except at this one spot on mercer island forgot the name... sexual_chocolate Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 I had some kinda yucky Thai food in Thailand once. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 I had some kinda yucky Thai food in Thailand once. Â That's funny. A friend of mine said the same thing after he visited there. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Oooh but I did taste the most delectable delicacies also, mainly in the form of sweet sour and spicy fruit salads. Oh lord. Quote
