RuMR Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 I once got stood up by the great DFA!! How's that for an ugly brush-off??? Quote
rr666 Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 I ate breakfast a couple tables over from Rod Stewart. I was on a cruise with Winnie from "The Wonder Years", played blackjack with her. I dated the sheriff's daughter in high school. Â Â Â Quote
Ursa_Eagle Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Dinner with Carlos Buhler after the slideshow he gave earlier this year here in PDX. Â I had dinner with Fred Beckey when he was in town two weeks ago. Then I went out to the Lucky Lab afterward and watched him get digits from no less than 3 women in their 30's. Watched him dodge questions left and right, including harmless ones- Me: "Did you make the trail up depot creek?" Fred: "It's been there for a while." Â I ran into Lowell Skoog on the trail up to Boston Basin, and not realizing who he was, asked for any beta on the West Ridge of Forbidden then went on my merry way. Quote

Does this mean your free copy of the infamous 'Dr. Flash Amazing Sex Tape' wasn't a soothing enough balm for your damaged feelings? Â Oh, life can be so unjust! Quote
bunglehead Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 I got a really nice e-mail from Alan Watts earlier this year. Quote

klenke Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Me: Muhammed Ali. Shook his hand. Got his autograph. Threw him a left hook and he rope-a-doped. (Okay, that last sentence was a fabrication.) Quote
catbirdseat Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 I met Disney artist, John Hench years ago at my folks house. He's still going strong at age 95. Story Quote
mtn_mouse Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 (edited) I hike with an old fart who has climbed with Warren Harding, Royal Robbins, Tom Hornbein, and Willy Unsoled. Â Kind of risky posting so close to a Cat! Edited December 1, 2003 by mtn_mouse Quote

I ran into the former mayor (Clint Eastwood) when working there, as well as sold some dishes to his wife (the local news anchor) - I didn't realize who she was until she produced her ID when paying by check. dkemp Posted December 1, 2003 Author Posted December 1, 2003 When I was one year old (1963) my mom took us to see Martin Luther King Jr march in Jackson MS. He stopped and asked my mom if she would join the march. She said "No, Dr King, I got my family here." He waved and she waved, and the march progressed. Yeah, my mom is awesome. Â I once had BillyGoat stay the night at my pad. He actually fell for the line, "Breakfast is my specialty." Â I once had Klenke name a peak correctly on a "Name that Peak" thread I started. slothrop Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 Jennifer Love Hewitt gave me a smooch on the cheek as my grandpa picked me up from school one day. He teased me for months. We were in second grade, at which point in her career she was already wearing makeup. She didn't look like this yet, though: Â Â Oh, and Scot'teryx gave me a belay test at Cascade Crags. Quote

scott_harpell Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 i failed a belay test there once cause i didn't know the verbal commands (the difference between take and tension). that is my claim to fame. Quote
