You mean accessorizing your Pearl District loft, wandering over to Powells for a new book, and stopping by wholefoods for the farmraised atlantic, right?
Every airline allows skis - some state that you can have only 1pr of skis + poles w/o getting charged extra. Here's Delta's Policy
A generous tip to the skycap or a smile to the hottie at the counter can bypass some of these, but not always.
They're different boots yes; the boot "architecture" still has the same stiffness limitations - the floating Flexon style tongue seems to be inherently softer than other architectures. I just wish Scarpa would make a 4 buckle boot with Dynafit fittings - my lasers are dying and I want something stiffer, but don't want 2 pairs of boots.
eh, I'm not sure Scarpa's done anything more than tweak their AT boots for a decade or more. Slightly change the last one year, add a different walk level the next, etc. I do want to check out the Tornado though!
Scarpa still makes the Laser - they just don't sell them in the states because BD doesn't want to import them. Pairs are always popping up on eBay if you'd like a pair - I've heard the Matrix is slightly stiffer FWIW.
I was more gibbing at the CCS scepticism, welded seams have been around for a bit just not commonly in clothing. I've ordere a pair of the pants, will see what they are like. I really wanted something with full side zips oh well. My only beef with Patagonia lately is their waterproof zippers are stiffer than all get out.
Thanks for the links. The failure mode of the hardhat type helmet (rigid shell w/webbing support) is when the outer shell contacts the webbing. A shattered helmet would then be a failed helmet.
Bullshit. Utter bullshit. How is that shattered helmet going to keep the rock from hitting your head? Helmets shatter because they've encountered a force they weren't designed to withstand - they are designed for low force impacts.
I'd pay more than 15% in shipping and customs fees, and all that shizzle.
I've heard if you call them up sometimes they will credit you the difference. Worth a try.
That's assuming
1) A competent Iraqi force with surplus resources - everyone seems to have their hands full providing security
2) Iraqis view their government as legitimate (If I found out there were a half dozen polling places in the occupying nation for those who fled to vote I wouldn't trust the government)
