That's bullshit. First Leilani Lanes now Sunset Bowl. I remember back when Ballard was cool. Now things are going to hell... fancy pants restaurants on Ballard Ave... tons of new condos. The place has been on a downhill slide for a few years now things are getting worse.

Could we get back to Jews and bacon? Not that I care that much, but there are Jack Mormons who drink booze even though it's against the rules of their religion. Wouldn't this leave room for a special title for those Jews that just can't stop eating bacon cheeseburgers.

Yeah that was some fun semi-backcountry.

Yes they are, or that's the plan. That new building at Sandpoint has stirred up a lot of controversy.

Right on. There is an event tonight....it is Thursday....you connect the dots.......

I'm afraid I'm only at 5, but that's 5 more than last season. My best day was recently at Crystal. I skied the new lift in the NBC, and they opened the SBC late in the day.

Thanks for the pics.

Quite a few good suggestions for user titles. I can do all that, but I never make spot decisions on such vitally important matters.

That was a great show.

We'll all have to drive to SLC now if we want to party with Mike. Pub Club + ski/ice climb. Either that or we just have another one here.

That's some nice stuff Sherri.

Wow, I used to have a ton of Robin Trower albums. I had no idea he was still rockin.

Hey Pope and Raindawg. I sadly had to disappoint Mark when I informed him that he didn't get banning power with his new title. I did tell him that I'm positive that he now has a wide array of new powers, responsibilities, and some perks. Send him a message and give him the lowdown on his new status.

New DNA testing will crack this bad boy. All they need to do is collect random samples off all the trees in SW Washington and test them for Dan's DNA.

Based on the classic movie Twenty One Twelve I'd go with Twenty-O-Eight.

I forget what year it was from, but I remember reading an Accidents in North American Mountaineering report about this dude solo climbing in Yosemite and ranting to nearby climbers that, "Old English 800 makes you climb way sicker," or something like that. I believe buddy ended up in the hospital.

Cops do some good things, but there's a reason they're called Pigs No matter if their rules are right or wrong a ticket would have been 10,000 times better then towing the vehicles given the weather.

It's been a while since I've been in there, but their library is pretty cool.

Not true... it will freeze... the temperatures have to be colder. I've got practical experience with some aspects of this. On a ski trip to the Canadian Rockies a few years back I left some Old Stock beers in the van. It was colder than snot, and after a 4 day trip we returned to the van. I was excited about beer waiting for me, but that proved futile when I tried to open one.

I'm embarrassed to say I once tried tele. I was living in Idaho and the options for skiing while I lived in Idaho were to go out and bc ski with a university group that all tele skied. They convinced me that I should try tele and I'd like it better than the AT mode that I was used to. To top it all off I'd left my AT gear at home and the only option then was to rent from a university that only carried tele gear. I went out on a couple trips. Eventually I would have picked it up, but I figured why bother when you can already ski. The next year I had my AT skis with me. I still had to hang out with the tele crowd and listen to a load of crap about my, "unhip form of skiing." Eventually after a season they all came up to me and said, "I guess that is a pretty cool way to ski." I've had a couple good tours with folks that are so disabled that they can't quit tele skiing. That's cool as long as they're having fun. Me, I'll stick with the form of skiing my dad and all his buddies were doing in the 40s. Tele is so new age, but you will note new age rhymes with sewage.

Hmmm. You've got me thinking. I'd say that a longer skinnier ski is going to have a roughly equivalent surface area with a shorter fat one. After that there is no difference in flotation. Just look at all the boats on the market. You can buy long skinny boats that will carry just as much weight as a short fat one. The big difference between a short fat ski and a long skinny one is probably in the selection of material as it relates to the springiness of the ski.

I'm considering having either one decent beer or one good cocktail for new years.

My pop is rad, and when he was skiing it was on 220s.

I've had some great days in the Wallowa at Aneroid Lake. That was back a while ago, but it was tons of fun.

AlpineK replied to IceAxe18's topic in Climber's Board
Now there's a good goal.
