  1. Hi folks just looking for some ideas here. Had planned on going to Muir snowfield this weekend but it's looking stormy so I'd like to find something with minimal exposure (avy and wind) thanks
  2. Just an update - my flicklock did NOT fail, it was user error. It got loose and when I tightened it, I neglected to align it correct with the little gap machined in the pole, so it wasn't gripping well. Thanks to Issq REI for pointing this out.
  3. I haven't tried a ton of them, but my suggestion is to match what your activity will be. I'm a powderhound, so went with a ski for that, K2 Baker. It also does fine in the other stuff.
  4. My flicklock has failed but I have to say it isn't any worse than any of the other locking mechanisms I've tried
  5. Looking for anyone who has transportation and wants to go ride. My buddy who was going to go is bailing, and my car is in the shop. The conditions should be good Current data Paradise (5550') http://www.nwac.us/products/OSOPVC Archive data: http://www.nwac.us/products/archive/osopvc_archive.htm Current data Muir (10100') http://www.nwac.us/products/OSOMUR Archive data: http://www.nwac.us/products/archive/osomur_archive.htm Forecast: http://www.atmos.washington.edu/data/rainier_report.html
  6. So that means people in the Banff area are pussies who are afraid of big air, so they are going to stop building the jumps?
  7. Considered randonee? Best of both worlds. Can rent the gear to try it.
  8. Don't worry - this won't get you fired (other than casting doubts on your "sick days") http://www.nike.com/nikeacg/index-en.html#home My favorite I think is http://www.nike.com/nikeacg/index-en.html#sweetspot6
  9. Sounds like it will be worth driving over the bridge for, thanks! P.S. the brown ticket description says: From October 18, 2007 7:00 PM Until October 18, 2007 8:00 PM
  10. Is that forecast for Adams or the lower lying areas?
