    SNOW!

I was thinking of you, Muffy, as we made the drive through Oregon yesterday and passed Eugene. We'd spent Saturday night in Ashland and as we drove north the snow was really coming down. The roads were horrible. Accidents all around us. The kids have a snow day. They are so happy. A week in Disneyland and now no school again today.
  2. Please, oh, please, take pics.
  3. Muffy - Crossfit is everywhere. Go here and look at the affliates list on the right hand side. You'll have to scroll, but you can see if there's a Eugene one or nearby. Considering there are two garage gym (one a true affliate) near me, I have to assume there are some near you. All the workouts can be scaled. They can be done by any age or fitness level. You know me. If I can do this, so can you! And everyone is really supportive. My instructor never makes me feel uncomfortable or like I totally sucked (even though I do). It's all about getting in shape and personal improvement. I use this forum to get the scaled workout of the day (WOD) when I'm heading to a garage gym to work out. It's really fun and a great way to get in shape. It really helps the climbing, too!
  4. You have my full consent to take pics Friday night. I want to see what I'm missing. As you're having fun at Jim's, I'll be making my way via minivan to Disneyland. Someone please have a drink for me. Or three

  6. Wow, I didn't realize I'd asked this question so long ago. Anyway I finally made it into the eye doctors. I'd been too busy with work and family to manage it before. After talking with him, I decided to go the contact route (the kind dbconlin mentioned that you throw away after two weeks) for climbing and skiing. I still prefer glasses, and am getting a new pair of those, too, but I hate my glasses fogging up when I ski and he said the contacts should work well for climbing. I asked him for a lens prescription so if the contacts don't work, I can get a cheapy pair of flexon frames for climbing! Thanks again for all the posts. They were really helpful
  7. This guy made this after what happened at Big Mountain yesterday. DMtIP222ArY
  8. So sorry, vertical_hiker. Prayers for you, her family and friends.

    For the ladies

Check out the cleaning hunk. Link warning: If shirtless guys are okay, then it's SFW. Oh, if you pick the gladiator costume, it doesn't stay on for long
  10. Bummer, Bill. I'll be heading south to visit Mickey Mouse. But I have never seen Eiger Sanction so can I put in a request for that movie if you ever do this again! Thx.
  11. Glad you enjoyed it, Sobo! I found it on a blog today. And yes, I liked those two parts. Of course, the nodding off kittens are pretty adorable!

    Show-and-Tell TR

Hugs, Sherri. Been thinking about you, sweetie! You've had a really rough week, but I know that beautiful smile of yours will be back! Take it easy and take care. :kisss:
  13. The home page looks great, but when I click on the geneology and timeframe links fI only see a blue box with white question mark in it. No image. I'm on a Mac running Safari.
  14. Maybe I will, John. But I gotta admit it's kinda nice working out in the garage gym with a priest. I'm such a wuss, even squat muscle ups kill me. May need some extra prayers to get me through the WOD tomorrow

    Turtles

Nope It'll be a week today. That night my niece got him to nibble on something, but that's it. It's weird because he doesn't seem to mind where he is. He doesn't retreat into his shell and runs all around. Update: They finally spoke to the guy I bought Yoshi from. He gave them some suggestions that have helped. Yoshi ate some dry food flavored with vegetable juice this morning!

    go see

I want to see Charlie Wilson's War. If you're looking for a fun family flick for the entire family, check out Enchanted. We saw it on Wednesday. It's a Disney film and very well done. Inside jokes. Homage to various movies. Our kids (girls ages 9 and 4, boy age 7) all liked it. Of course, you'll definitely have an ear worm after a couple of the songs.

    New Years Eve Plans

Well, you could always set all the clocks in the house ahead three hours. Explain the lapse in time due to a mass alien abduction. They're young. They might buy it

    New Years Eve Plans

That's what we did last year, Muffy. And what we'd be doing again if we hadn't been invited to the birthday party. We actually celebrated and watched the ball drop at midnight east coast time so we could put the kiddos to bed and then have some time to ourselves.

    New Years Eve Plans

We are attending a friend's 40th b-day party. It's going to be an elegant catered affair with lots of free alcohol.

    Turtles

Any ideas on how to get a tortoise to eat? My 6 yo nephew can't get Yoshi to eat. They are going to call someone tomorrow for help, but he called me tonight wanting me to tell him what to do. I gave them all the books and info so have no idea.
