  1. go aid some cracks at index. learn what gear is good and what isn't.
  2. be careful up there this weekend. see the NWAC forecast. i was just on the Coleman for four days and can say that there is new snow accumulation up high and a lot of wind transport all over the north ridge and surrounds yesterday.
  3. not gonna happen for me either amigo. sorry. I'm going to be wandering around the North Cascades in the rain with some clients--hopefully on something interesting, but we'll see.
  4. nice. That's a nice framing hammer your friend has!
  5. give me a shout if you want to do Leavenworth days Dan. i'm pretty busy, but hopefully we could make something work!
  6. ...and I'm giving it back. I must be feeling benevolent (and in need of good karma).
  7. Early Winters CG in Mazama is open and snow-free.
  8. I got your cam out yesterday. it looks like it was worked on a bit, but it seems to still be useable. Shoot me an address and I can mail it back to you (or I can drop it off in a couple weeks when I'm passing through Everett). Kurt
  9. there is a bit on the road up Mt. Erie.
  10. i broke the screen on my flip also. not that durable, but good resolution/quality.
  11. I think i did those a couple years back. a nice 5.9 bolted route and a 5.7 corner/slab.
  12. yep, that's what both of the johns mentioned. less crack systems, but they did tell me about a multipitch .10 that sounded good.
  13. call John Crock at Hyperspud Sports in moscow. 208-883-1150.
  14. grab a really lightweight pair of soft shells. find a tan pair if you can, they're way cooler on glaciers IMO. layer up if it's cold or precipitating. I found a great pair from REI last year (gasp!) and am stoked on them.

    Display Upgrades

Does this upgrade include google ads on every page? I see a little "advertisement" after the first post on every page now. is this the new cc.com or my browser?
  16. icicle buttress was soaked last weekend as was most of the rock in both canyons. if you're looking for moderate multi-pitch, Castle Rock had some dry lines as did February Buttress. Sam Hill looked okay too.
  17. BUS. The old slip-slap-slide is a carryover from the days of Ivan's hip belay...I prefer to see my belayer in a locked off position as much as possible.
  18. Boulders: some snow on the tops, depending on where they are. snowy and muddy landings, but those in dense trees might have bare ground around the bases. The best bets are near the mouth of each canyon. oh yea, the Sam Hill area looked pretty ok too.
  19. I just did a quick canyon tour. If it rains tonight/tomorrow this will all change, of course. Tumwater --February Buttress area looked ok --Upper Castle has some dry lines from the look of it Icicle --Mountie Dome dry --Careno Area looked ok --Givler's Crack looked mostly dry --Heart of Gold area may be ok.
  20. not looking good at the moment, but we'll see. It's sunny right now, but has been raining off and on for a few days and is snowy up high. I'd think index is a better bet.
  21. Closet cleaning time. I'll be on the west side on Monday, but otherwise I have to ship this stuff at buyer's expense. PM me. Sportiva Nuptses. 44.5. used two denali trips and an aconcagua trip. Good condition, but one scorched liner from getting too close to the stove to dry it out. $175 Petzl Darts w/sidelock and heel spurs. good shape, lots of life left. $80 Arcteryx hardshell pants. XXL. brand new. make me an offer. Yakima ski rack. holds 3-4 pairs of skis or 2 boards. 48" bars. $50. Marmot Trestle Trails synthetic sleeping bag. used one night indoors, but would make a good overbag or hostel/couch bag since it's not very warm. $40. Oakleys. SOLD #10 BD hex. $5
  22. I bootied a hex up there around the same time, but it was below the roof if I recall correctly. I don't want it. I think it was a WC.
