Heading up to Washington Pass this weekend for some skiing, according to the USFS website, the campgrounds don't open for another two weeks. Any recommendations for camping spots around the area? Thanks, Adam

Looking for someone that might be interested in showing me the ropes on some easy alpine ice climbs, as far as ice tool usage (I have a pair of Quarks) and placing pro. I have some general mountaineering experience (two trips up Rainier, two trips up Hood, a trip up Adams), and sport and trad climbing experience - just no steep snow and ice. I'll bring beer... Shoot me a PM if interested, I'd been thinking something in the Tatoosh, or Chair Peak, or whatever still might be in. - Adam

I picked up a pair this summer (along with the Big Tahoma pack), used them on Rainier and schwacking around the North Cascades. They seem very durable and breathe like a champ. I was a dumb ass (screwing around with my ice ax) and put the pick in my thigh, damn sure punctured the skin, but didn't rip the pants.

Thanks for the tips, I'll look a little harder at those.

Does anyone have any recommendations for three or four quality routes in the north cascades that are either 4th class or low 5th class (5.0-5.6) multi-pitch? We have the second week in August to kill and I'm looking at taking my wife up a few climbs with me. Thanks Adam

I was thinking about heading down to Shasta over Memorial Day weekend. I was wondering if anyone knew what the conditions were like; specifically where the snow level is at going up the Avalanche Gulch route. We were thinking of skinning up to at least the bivy site, but I've never been there, so I don't know how well that works out. Thoughts? - Adam

Anyone up for Exit 38 on Monday during the day? I can be up there as early as 9:30 and stay until 2 or 3. - Adam
