Sorry dude, I started using Gmail as soon as it came out. However, I feel your pain as we still are using Microsoft products at work.

It's been determined that the cause of the trouble is that you are using a Microsoft product. ______________________________________________________________ SEATTLE - Microsoft Corp.'s free Web-based e-mail service and other sites have been unavailable for hours to Internet users around the world Tuesday. Web surfers were unable to log on to Hotmail, along with other services that require a Microsoft login, such as the Xbox Live video game community site and the Windows Live Messenger instant messaging program. Microsoft confirmed the problem was international in scope, but did not say how many people were affected or when a resolution was expected. "We are aware that some customers may be experiencing difficulty accessing their Windows Live accounts," said Microsoft spokeswoman Samantha McManus in a statement. "We're actively investigating the cause and are working to take the appropriate steps to remedy the situation as rapidly as possible."

mtclimber: I've noticed that my Karrimor pack I bought 20 years ago is still in fair condition. However, shirts and pants are a commodity which I tend to burn through.

Are you sure that's what you meant to say? I would hope that most of the cost will be for materials and labour. Isn't this the business model of Cilogear? There seem to be a lot of supporters for them here. There's always a market for affordable quality gear. Everyone would love a pack that was lighter than air, would last a lifetime, could be adjusted to work in all situations and came for free. What compromises do you have in mind? It's easier to answer more directed questions. Sorry for being difficult but I TA first year physics and am easily frustrated with open questions. Howdy, I'm Graham and I own and operate CiloGear. We started out with more or less the above described model, and we have been relatively successful at it. Randy Rackliff does something similar with Cold Cold World, another well respected pack maker for climbers. There's also a whole bunch of folks making packs for hikers with a similar business model. Honestly, I would recommend rethinking your plans though carefully and honestly. AFAIK, there are less than 20,000 members of the American Alpine Club. Even the largest subscriber base for a climbing magazine in the USA is only 70,000. On the other hand, the Outdoor Industry Association does claim that something like 9.2 million folks used climbing walls, but that doesn't make them potential customers... Excluding the operations of really large companies, most of the cost of backpacks made or sold to climbers is overhead, whether it goes to the store, to the company or directly to folks like Randy and I to continue our operations. It turns out that even if there were 70,000 people who were hard core climbers and they wanted a pack, most of them want it for free or as cheap as possible. Climbers are not exactly folks who want to spend lots of money... I wish you the best. I hope you've got the money to support your business for the three to five years that it's going to take to turn a profit. But I really have to strongly caution you to consider the costs and benefits of focusing on the climbing market. _______________________________________________ Summations: you need another competitor like you need hemorrhoids.

Sounds like great cage match potential!

That was stupid

Keith, Kellie and others are trying to get this opened for climbing. Now is the time to write another letter to the commissioners. This is the flyer Keith did which we were folding Saturday for your perusal. Hmmm, can anyone link a site? My scan doesn't really do it.

Best choice is Ozone. *Pros: Not usually too crowded, sunny and warm, Kevbone will be there. * Cons: Kevbone will be there. (I'm kidding, he's really a good addition to any group you go out there with Drew) Short routes. However, if you are in a conference thing that sucks up most of your day, the freeways turn to shit so that you'll be slamming your hand on your steering wheel and screaming at the stalled cars as the sun dips below the horizon on the way to Ozone (traffic not as bad a Seattle, but near), so Rocky Butte is better despite being primarily toproping as you can get out and still get some nice crack laps for a good burn before darkness. Broughtons can be OK. Maybe give a shout out post as it gets closer to the time, and let us know your what your time commitments are shaping up to be.
