CBS, please stick to talking about things you know about. Tim and jon may be able to read your PMs, I'm not sure, but, for the last time... MODERATORS CAN NOT READ PMs. OK?

The frog is going places, it's the rest of the world that is standing still.

Damn, this guy's a quick study! Must have a good mentor.

I like "girls being girls" too! I don't understand why people feel there is a need for cc to be more popular or accesible. Who the F#$% cares if people like us or not? We like us, obviously, isn't that good enough? Or are we so insecure we need validation? Maybe Beck is right, maybe you are all a bunch of pussies. Oh. Wait. He was talking about me there.

Or better yet, make an appointment. Any fitter worth his rep will be happy to accomodate you.

Try you, Yoda, to be? Or Muffie? So start a new thread. Oh wait, you already did. Or go start your own forum, where all the cool smart kids can hang out, and stop trying to bully us idiots and assholes. Awaiting your PM...

Aprox 65L Jaguar S65 Pack. Purchased in 1982 (?) this pack is still going strong and has only a few minor repairs needed. It is smallish in size, and has an adjustable back length. Click for pic. $75 CDN

ONE Komperdell adjustable ski pole. Perfect if you lost one of yours, or maybe a good hiking pole? Click for pic. $15 CDN

This is not a bag for posers, it is a real courier bag. It is made by Roach designs, the same people who are making MTB armour these days as well. It has a unique double strap design that saves your back, yet still allows you to access the bag quickly w/o taking it off. Well built, well used, and still got lots of life in it. Ok Icebaby, here it is: If you look close you can see that the green part of the midsole is ground away at an angle. It is a little harder to see that there is a wedge of hard material glued in there, before the new sole was glued on. The sandwich is like this: Green mid sole Wedge of hard material Vibram sole The wedge extend slightly furhter than the original toe did, so affords a more secure platform for the bail. As I said, I have not got many miles on these boots since the repair, and I think, zero pitches of kicking. I have a friend who had the same thing done, and it worked for him though.
-
Whadda you mean? Turkeys don't fly.
-
My friend uses a similar setup. She got a kid's race boot because she has small feet and she had a cobbler grind the bottom down and put a thin Vibram sole on it. She uses this for bc, and inbounds. The only caveat is that it would not be all that good in an alpine binding, as the Vibram may interfere with proper release.
-
Sorry in advance Johnathan...
-
They do mail order, and if I can get you a pic you can get it done there. You have cobblers in Seattle right??
-
Yeah, I've had the same problem witht the same boot. Look at a new pair, you'll see they have modified the toe on the newer models. I had mine repaired at Quick Cobbler and they did what seems like a schweet job, but I haven't had much time to try them out since the repair to see how it holds up. I might be able to post a pic of it sometime soon.

And don't forget to pick up some cheap liners for your boots, if they have ones big enough for you. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB10&Number=272373&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#Post279043

Yo! I wanna ski so bad, but if things go as planned I will be gone from Squampton by Thursday... It's been puking here though, so you'll have a blast I'm sure. Nobody ever tells me about secret slide shows. Don't take dru to Whistler yet... you'll scare him off skiing for ever!

He is also working for G3 in BC so who knows what might come of that union???

Proposed changes to Mt. Rainier guide services
snoboy replied to NEWSTIPS's topic in Climber's Board
You might be interested to compare and contrast to the Canadian system, which rarely grants exclusivity to guiding companies. (Heli/cat ski operations being the obvious, glaring exception) One thing that comes from this is that guides are able to work with the same clients in various areas, and so able to build lasting realtionships, and return business. Dunno, it might be an angle for you.
