ATX Borea - now $125 Also adding to the list, A Karrimor Jaguar S65. This is an old pack, but a good pack. It is 65L give or take, and it is well made. The colour is green, and it is in good condition. Make me an offer...

And I thought this was another of Timmy's threads about older women.

Sometimes there is a need to post photos that don't really belong in the photo Gallery, say selling gear, or trying to here is the best way to do it... When you make a post, there is a box above the 'Continue' button you can tick off that says something like "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file." Tick that box, then hit 'Continue.' You will now have the option to browse for a file, and upload it along with the post. The post will have an extra note in the suject line that says attachment, and is clickable... You can leave it at that, and make a note to "See attachment," or you can get fancy. I like to open the attachemnt, then copy the URL of the pic. Then I go back and 'Edit' my post, and add the link in as an image. Good Luck...

I have had service from G3 both by email, and ny phone. The Phone was the best way to go. Really prompt and proactive service.

Another consideration re: avy hazard, for those not familiar with the Rockies: Sometimes the mountains will look dry, or "boney," but the bowls will be wind loaded. This can lull you into thinking that the hazard is low, when in fact it is not. Just something to keep in mind.

I got one of those Kong jobs, never used it, someone gave it to me. The Pro Traxion, the Hogwauler, and others I am sure, have the same "clip-gate" function. GriGri's can easily be given a leash. Would a Gri Gri be good for hauling light loads?

I don't think Petzl makes the wall hauler (after they bought out Rock Exotica) any more, so if that's what you decide on, you'll have to find a second hand one. There are also some made by Ushba, I have heard that the Hogwauler is the deluxe wall pulley. This web page has scads of info on all sorts of haulers, including the Pro traxion, and the Wall Hauler.

$1000/hour is a good place to start, more if it's a big bird.

Prolly 1A towers? They fit all kinds of cars, at least if they have rain gutters. Good Deal!

No offense taken, like I said, I am just wanting people to be aware of all the opinions before they make their decisions. Maybe we can ski together sometime, and I can try one of these X-1 thingys.

OK, I am not trying to bash Ortovox here, but I am sure it is beginning to look that way, even more so by the end of this... an unbiased source for sure I believe he is actually a retailer, a fact that he been open about, and that he was also planning to be a seller of the X-1, until he tested it out, and found the problems he notes. Maybe none to Marcus, but this incident I refer to was first hand from someone I trust a lot. Because last years had no problems? Once you have a signal there is always something to process. I find the processing lag to be a problem with all digital beacons, not just the X-1, something that needs to be gotten used to for those of us who are familiar with the analog system. Some of us are more adaptable than others, and some beacons are quicker than others. That is good to know. I guess he is not counting the ones that retailers have returned then... So, as I said, I am not trying to bash Ortovox here. I think their F1 is still a standard setting beacon, although the SOS is pretty close, and maybe better in some ways. I still have an F1 in my gear box, and I still use it. I am, however, trying to alert people to other information out there, and let them make up their own minds. I know that from what I have read and heard, I would be hesitant to buy an X-1, and I would not neccesarily feel confident if my partner showed up with one. I would still like to try one out myself though. Any one wanna sponsor me?
