  1. From the incomparable Dynafit Binding FAQ on Lou Dawson's Wildsnow.com: Looking in my repair kit I see: *pole basket *wire *mini needlenose ViseGrips *T-handle driver w/assorted bits incl PosiDrive and a drill bit w/ a hex shank for field re-mounting of bindings *hoseclamps for pole and binding repair *zip ties (free at many ski resorts ) *couple of binding screws *1/3 of a hacksaw blade (clamp it in the Vise Grips to use) *various small spare parts that apply to my bindings/boots.
  2. Oh right, of course, you guys are still working on those things down there.

  4. Shouldn't it be just as fast once they are in your cache??? What I meant, is that the photos should only get downloaded once... and then your browser (IE, Opera, Netscape, whatever) has them in the cache file, on your Hard Drive, and accesses them from there. Shouldn't slow you down to "quote" a pic.
  5. On rappel one sling, one biner. Light, simple, adjustable, multipurpose. Extra gear = 0.
  6. Ok, not Dru's b-day... but someone he cares about. B-Day celebrations.
  7. Clove hitch + biner. Light, simple, adjustable, multipurpose. Extra gear = 0.
  8. Where is the best ice climbing around Squamish???? Canmore.

  10. How 'bout Snotel?
  11. Like when I called Sprint to cancel my LD plan (because I was moving) and the guy just automatically offered to put me on a 5 cents/minute plan.
  12. The drag is made up for by the increased spring in your step from overtightened skins though. More than compensates.
  13. This is a friend of mine's site. His prints are stunning. Some climbing shots from Squamish in the "Lifestyles" gallery. www.markraymondmason.com
  14. I don't know how, but I do know it happens. The ski is not flat remember, so if you pull the skin tight, the n you are trying to pull it off so it can follow the chord from tip to tail, creating some perpindicularish force...
  15. Then Bullshit. Just make sure you attach the clip, then stick the skin to the ski, so the glue isn't stressed. Dave's right, young 'un. Been there, done that.
  16. They are already on the yay or nay question over here at telemarktips.com.
  17. I would guess that there should be some work on Deep Burials and Multiple Victim Strategies, probably Pinpointing on a Line, maybe Vertical Plane Searching. If it's just transceiver practice for $85 that would be weak, but I would hope that it would be a lot more. There's also such a thing as learning new techniques and tools...
  18. RTFM It's really not to hard. Make sure you have something solid to hammer the rivets on. Measure three times before you cut.

    Ramblings

I get "the problem" from time to time with W98SE and Opera7.23, but the expire cookies link always seems to fix it.
  20. HERE
  21. The cuff is kind of the key isn't... and the super comp is a bit of a mutant in terms of leather boots. I skied leather for quite a few years. Whenn I got plastic, I finally felt like I knew what my skis were doing, and then I was able to get them to do what I wanted. No accounting for taste. Your "leathers" are probably beefier than my plastics anyway. I've got old 2-buckle T-2s.
  22. Do you want warm dry feet? Get Plastic. Do you wanna learn to carve high speed turns? Get Plastic. Do you wanna make the occasional p-turn? Get Plastic. Do you likr the idea of getting feedback from your feet so you can learn good technique? Get Plastic. Do you wanna be retro and hardcore?? Ride the Cow.
  23. That's an insulting and offensive analogy. To who?
  24. Hey, you can't post this here. It's a new route for crying out loud!!
