Yes, that's just one of the slurs used for centuries to persecute Jews all over the world, and its no more true than any of the other stereotypes. An ignorant and asinine bit of bigotry displayed by GGK. There have been plenty of Jews good at lots of things for 2000 years, Modern civilization would not be recognizable without their contributions. And hey, politics aside, don't you just love hearing Samuel Jackson say "I strongly suggest you wake the fuck up"?

Young man, the answer you seek is simple: the leader must not fall.

Well, you made me look. It's pretty clearly this route: http://www.glocals.com/things-to-do/geneva/30118.htm "La Roche à l’Agathe / Thônes" and apparently it's "Famed for being the most difficult Via Ferrata in the lake Annecy area (in the Haute-Savoie region in the French Alps)" Lotsa pics on the web, but I didn't turn up any more of our excitable boy.

[TR] Exfoliation Dome - Snake Charmer 9/23/2012

A good thing for any Darrington route, more traffic will only make it better and build on the FA's cleaning work. Moss never sleeps. Good pics & report. -
I've gotta admit, that is pretty much the best via ferrata photo ever.

What counts as a "move" in a boulder/sport route?
Off_White replied to Rad's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
The answer will be in Raindawg's next book, "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Bouldering and Sportclimbing" coming out next month. He's bound to be doing a book signing event at a gym near you. -
I dunno Ivan, does the e=mc2 at the end of this one qualify for atheists? I guess I'm kinda with Akhalteke on this, the bumper sticker seems a little precious, but its hardly work getting worked up about what a threat to America it is. I'm guessing the quote came from Allen West, Republican congressman and certifed asshat, unless you mean Alan West, the former lead singer for Bolt Thrower, the sadly defunct British death metal band...

Plaid, I suspect that was a rhetorical question, I think he just wanted to ask how wet your hole was?

It takes a guy with a little history on this site to make a joke like that.

Minxiepoo? I think Idaho is rubbing off on you...

Thanks for bumping this great TR, I somehow missed it the first time around. -
[TR] Mt Torment - The South ridge, the house of pain 9/2/2012
Off_White replied to OlegV's topic in North Cascades
You know that moat on your descent is where Craig Leubben died, right? I haven't had many free hanging rappel sections in the mountains, I thought that was fairly gnarly for descending a class 4 route (isn't that what Fred rates it?) -
What, it's surprising that Chuck Norris (the real one, not our cc.com doppelganger) is an ignorant dipshit?

Or the approach to the hut in the Bugaboos...

That wording almost makes it seem like a troll from the get go

Being unwise myself though, I fear I am moved to comment: Crest Jewel and Safe Sex are not run out, they're frequently climbed trade routes. Your other two examples are ill considered and contradictory. If you can't add bolts to a route out of respect for the first ascensionist, then you can't chop the first ascensionist's bolts for the same reason, even if you wouldn't put them that close. If anyone with the skills can chop a bolt they don't need on an established route, then anyone without the skills can place a bolt wherever they damn well please on the same pitch. You don't get it both ways.

Wise words indeed! In this, I find myself in complete agreement with Mr. Dawg.

[video:youtube] Biscuit? He got et by a cougar. RIP. My dogs come to my crag, as in on my property, and most folks have figured out they need to guard their socks and sandwiches. I'd never bring them to the crags though, that would detract from the fun. I took a half paralyzed cat to Squamish once, it would have been better to leave him at home but I had no one to squeeze the pee out of him twice a day.

Jeebus Keerist Oh-boy, just keep at it until you grow calluses on your sphincter.

The letters are retro, the way they used to do it. I got one 20 years ago, beautiful handwriting on an unusual brown envelope, I'm sure I still have it in a box somewhere.

I like that the cut-and-pasted info about the house lacks the grammatical innovation of the rest of the letter. I was a little surprised to find there really is a "American Red Cross Lutheran Hospital Donor Center", though it is in Ft Wayne IN rather than Seattle or Abuja. I'd assumed that was just an amalgam of quasi virtuous words strung together.

I'd contact that quality control guy at Black Diamond who posts test results all the time. If he doesn't know, odds are he'd do a little testing just out of curiosity.

I think we went to the same school, though I suspect you were that guy who stole my lunch money.

Pfft, you can post a TR about whatever the hell you feel like. I posted one once about attending an All Freakin' Night horror movie festival, nothing climbed there though you could argue that watching b-grade horror movies from midnight until 10am is comparable to a forced bivy. What about the guy who posts TR's to hiking ascents of non technical peaks that are essentially just links to his website? Do you think we've had enough TR's for the Tooth and that there is anything fresh to say about it? You know, the south side of Hood has been climbed before. The answer is that it's all well and good and more than welcome. Climbing is a member of the Digme variety of sports, and a TR is a chance to say Dig Me about your particular stoke about some aspect of this essentially frivolous hobby we share. If you don't like it, write something better. As an example: Klenke wrote a pissy response to Leor's PT TR that you're talking about (which he has since deleted). I took him to task for it, but gently because he's a good egg with a fabulous amount of knowledge about the Cascades who doesn't post here as much as he should. Awhile back, Klenke wrote a parody of a Leor TR about hiking a peak with a dog, including his split times, and it was splendid, far more entertaining than whinging about what gets someone else excited, and I think it even made Leor laugh. See the difference in the approaches? A TR is a TR, and if you wanna be an asshole responding to someone's TR you're gonna get spanked, thems just the rules.

Why don't you just STFU! This is our crag and if you ever climbed there or did anything but sport climb or climb in the gym you would know that it is off the hook awesome. Granted I don't know you but why don't you just mind your own business. We love to bitch about shit and that is just the way it is. Now that is some damn funny shite-talking right there, Plaid. Being relatively new and all to climbing and Beacon (and so enthusiastic) you should probably get a pass on this one given, as you say, you really don't know who you're talking to here (which, you probably should, as a 'Beacon local' anyway)... Okay, I confess, if I'd been drinking this set of nested quotes would have beer spraying out my nose.
