B: you were just being rhetorical, since you don't really have a girlfriend, but you think calling GGK a girl is an insult. Do you have some kind of negative narrative built up about what a girlfriend is and how women think? In that case you're merely a clueless dolt. I can agree with that. My wife works for a tribe in the South Sound, and any tribal member who wants to go to college gets a free ride. The tribe has maybe 850 enrolled members, from elders to babies, and at this time 58 are in college. Smartest thing that tribe can do with their money if you ask me. The US Govt. should be half as smart, but kids today face far more debt accumulation for the sake of their education than those of us who did college in the 70's and 80's.

That's certainly true for climbing in the Cascades. Back in the 80's it was only with the annual publication of the AAJ that I'd get a chance to see which of my possible projects those danged Skoogs had scooped. Its almost difficult to remember what life was like when I only had the Beckey guides and a few other friends active in the range.
