  1. I have climbed there, and I'll second Matt's caution. Its a good area to have a full bag of tricks, and you'll find more suitable first multi-pitch routes at Leavenworth or Index than Goose Egg. Its a good place, but you'd do well to think of it as adventure climbing.
  2. Hmmm, that explains a lot.
  3. Not a great idea, there are a lot of ways that sort of thing can go very wrong.
  4. I'll vouch for the Chunkyard, good fun, moderate routes, and quite solid. Right nearby, Moon Rocks is relatively well set up for top ropes, thanks to Andy's anchor work if I recall correctly.
  5. Pretty much the way it works, whatever I do is cool. The rest of you, not so much.
  6. I'm glad we got to steal you away from NWhikers, nice TR.
  7. The NR Baker and Shuksan recommendations are solid gold, and far more fun than either Hood or Adams would be that time of year. They're close to each other too, do 'em both and you'll have had a wonderful trip out here.
  8. I think they'll both be pretty ugly then, and anything steep will provide plenty of rockfall. I'd pick a different sort of objective if it were me, even if it was just hiking and picking huckleberries it would be better than those two volcanoes.
  9. Then I suppose your use of the affectionate diminutive is doubly appropriate.
  10. I thought "muffin" was a cat's name?
  11. With one in Eugene and one in Boise, do you figure Colo Springs makes you local? Ya'll gonna meet midway in the Tetons?
  12. Nothing wrong with your memory retention. Yes, I think Fejas was the music's owner, was Beck the DJ responsible?
  13. Were you driving a truck back then rather than your little red car?
  14. I'm certain bolt replacement (as compared to additions) done well will earn you slaps on the back and kudos all around. You might want to run route extensions by one of the old hands like Mark Hanna, David Whitelaw, or Matt Perkins to make sure someone hasn't already trod that ground.
  15. Outstanding research and write up, and route info to boot.
  16. Big thumbs up for the staff at NOCA and cool headed climbers. I love a happy ending.
  17. now is this some reference to someone actually on cc.com or are you talking about the actual Counting Crows? your spray fu is conFUsing. I'm pretty sure he's talking about the vocalist in the band, not the poor fool who's boombox that was. I can almost remember the name... Anyone recollect?
  18. Sounds like cascadeclimberdating.com might have a hand in arranging a successful 3-way! I was thinking Sol was a likely go-to guy. Goofy maybe, but thumbs up to the owners for making access possible, regardless of the restrictions.
  19. Colin! You dropped the watermarks, the pics look much better this way.
  20. Big fish in small ponds more like it, I'm not hugely impressed with the guards of either nationality on that border.
  21. If ignorance is bliss, why is that guy so angry?
  22. done!
  23. Hey, I'll have you know the TSA has a perfect record. They've never preempted a terrorist yet.
  24. Pfft, Forbes. Who's gonna believe what you read in that commie symp rag?
  25. Its not so much the Cascadian descent I don't care for, its the soul crushing plod up Longs Pass at the end of a long day. Kind of like the climb up out of Thornton Lakes after doing Triumph. I've been down the Sherpa Couloir too late in the season and we had to rap the damn thing - it had an inch of wet slub over rock hard snow. Wish I'd known about the sherpa-argonaut option back then.
