  1. nonsense! perfect when it's blowing hard! like your a sailor, only not gay!
  2. nice - the hoarfrost photo makes me want to call my dealer so i can appreciate it more fully
  3. new trail work is nice n' pretty - surprised it didn't get blown out again today - it was howling! aided flying dutchman and am blind now from all the lichen wind-blasted into my poor corneas - took a run up the corner too and it was perhaps the breeziest i've ever felt it going around the corner atop the slab pitch and topping out on the ridge to the trail - shoulda worn my goggles!
  4. i'm figuring it for perfect aiding weather 2morrow - lotsa clothes! lotsa head-space! sloooow-going....
  5. jesus!
  6. nothing better than climbing sketchy mixed shit in a howling gale! at least you wouldn't be in the worst of it until heading down... hope you don't have to hike the road at all - hardly worth such annoyance to scramble on the hood-wands taint! i'm looking forward to doing some extreme camping on the windiest part of hood - illumiation gap - come show off on i-rock wayne so i can stare in wonderous awe
  7. a few miles east of portland, on the more fashionable side of the river though... it's its own little slice of boukake
  8. this reminds me, did you know the word "gullible" ain't in the dictionary?
  9. ...that's nice and simple my favorite quote from my best friend in high school, when he was aged 15

  11. CO avi conditions are way more dangerous - they calm quickly here use your spidey sense and avoid obviously stupid terrain traps - in the absence of professional advisories, and unless you're willing to stop and dig a test pit 100 yards, what else is there? i've come far closer to getting killed by cornices around here than slides!
  12. wow bill - you've brightened my optimism that reaaally old people CAN listen to modern music!
  13. anyone ever noticed how, no matter where you go in the world, people bitch about how they drive there?

    Ron Paul

about all he seems to have going for him is wanting to legalize da chronic, but even i have enough brain-cells left to know the rest of his program blows!
  15. watcha wanna know? cooper spur's in great shape currently adn the road's open. i doubt the pearly gates' good, but bet you could make the old crater work if need be. luetholds and reid headwall are probably good too.
  16. Perhaps that will be more enjoyable than Ivan singing at the belay. I doubt it though. I don't know about you but it makes me climb 100 times harder when some one is singing on belay could be that i just want to get out of ear shot but either way it rocks my wold my intro to singing belayers was a wacky persian who chanted in farsi - verse after verse of absolutely unintelligible goobley-gook - not at all unlike what i do in english
  17. well duh, it crawled up tim-may's wife's hoo-hoo and was awaiting rebirth!!! and don't listen to rob's static, my first trip out w/ him i heard him ejaculate w/ glee more than a few bars of bon jovi's "dead or alive" - ha!

why won't it go above level 41? i'm like cleaning up but it don't wanna step to me!!!
  21. almost all the .10 routes at beacon are great for aiding - that's the only way i've gotten through parts of almost all of them!!! seriously, pretty much all of the south face routes follow continious (albeit often very small) cracks and are therefore perfect. might as well learn solo aiding at the same time or bring a hell of a lot of dope for your poor belayer... and, as w/ most climbing, how much do you really need an instruciton manual? a big rack and a will to scare yourself will go along way...
  22. similiar to beowulf, it's one compelling feature is a tremendously hot chick... oh, and they DID keep the original transforming noise from the cartoon!
  23. saw it last night - it wasn't as bad as i expected, and w/ a fair amount of topless angelina jolie, how much can you really bitch? i'm a big fan of the original story though and can't really understand why every director who takes it on chooses to fuck w/ it - the christopher lambert version reduced me to a mass of quivering anger-brain-jelly - the new version keeps a lot of the small, and interesting details from the poem (even managing to squeeze in some of the olde english verses!), but makes titantic changes to the overall plot that left me saying "what in the pluperfect fuck?!?" cool details they retained: - unferth's boast and the tale of beowulf's swimming contest w/ brecca -the "ancestral blade" hrunting and it's eventual melting into just a hilt - the recent intrusion of christianity into the blood-thirsty pagan world of 6th century denmark - the theft of a golden cup sparking the rage of the 3rd monster, a dragon, which ultimately kills beowulf - grendel's death caused by the tearing off of his arm - the character of wiglaf (only appears at the end of the poem but he musta bribed the director 'cuz he's in the whole damn movie) - grendel's (and his ma's) hideout in a "mere" beyond a "frost-stiffened wood" - hrothgar's queen wealthough - the historical character finn making an apperance - beowulf doing combat w/ grendel in the buff ("moreover i have heard the monster scorns, in his reckless way, the use of weapons - therefore, to highten hygelac's fame and gladen his heart, i hereby renouce the use of sword and the shelter of the broad shield - hand to hand is how it shall be, a life and death fight w/ the fiend - whichever one death fells must deem it a just judgement by god - fate goes ever, as fate must! (the later line surviving in the film)) what the fuck? issues: - hrogthgar and beowulf sparing and then fucking grendels ma - grendel's ma being hawt(!) and not a "tarn-hag" - hrothgar as a result having no kids (he has 2 in the poem) - hrothgar commiting suicide - wealthough lusting after beowulf and later marrying him - beowulf becoming king of the danes (instead of the geats) - all but 1 of beowulf's comrades dying (only 1 is killed int he poem) - beowulf making the crossing from geatland to denmark in a storm (in the poem they "thank god for that easy crossing on a calm sea") - the dragon being beowulf son - beowulf cutting off his own arm to slay the dragon i heard the movie's also done in 3d imax - that'd be much cooler! -
  24. do you reaaaaly like diana ross that much?
