  3. I was climbing near the UTW at Index that day and heard the helicopter. I wondered if there was a rescue underway. LINK1 LINK2 I hope you get your pack back. Best wishes for your friend's recovery.
  4. Wow. I trust that my #0.75 camalot was key for sending these routes? When you think about it, it's almost like I was there and climbed those routes too. Blah blah. Thanks for the TR guys. It's inspiring to see what really good and motivated climbers are capable of.

  6. How about when people call you "Chuck"?
  7. Awesome Sol! Did you throw a rope over the summit block or just go au naturel? Any pictures?
  8. This link isn't directly related to your question, but I think it's amazing that someone actually did this study (and someone funded it!). oxygenated water does not improve exercise performance......DUH!
  9. I doubt Gu gets converted to glycogen in any useful timescale. Gu > blood glucose-monomers is what that product is all about. Your water question is interesting and I don't know the answer, but I'm sure that "electrolyte loading" would increase a body's water carrying capacity. If you find some good answers, please share. edit: Quick pubmed search gives these interesting results: Link1 Hydration recommendations for sport 2008. Link2American College of Sports Medicine position stand. Exercise and fluid replacement Link3 Fluids and hydration in prolonged endurance performance I can only see abstracts; don't have academic access.
  10. Domestic terrorists in the N. Cascades?

    You suck

I've recently had a sunnier outlook on life, but tonight it occurred to me that most of you still suck.
  13. I think I visited there briefly last night.
  14. Silly adult. Trips are for kids!
  15. I've been there in late July (edit: actually late June), which was pretty hot, but not ridiculous. Had one day (out of ~8) that was too hot to climb so I went on a hike and took pictures of blooming cactuses. You can always find a shady climb any time of day. If you haven't been there yet, you should go. It is fantastic. EDIT: OOPS! I was there in LATE JUNE, not late July. Might wanna check the forecast before you go and make your decision accordingly.
  16. TF = 2hrs 15min from City of Rox
  17. :lmao::lmao: You are like a one man hit parade of comedy funny ha
  18. Funny that you say that... My headlamp batteries died and I had to change them because I couldn't see a thing! the whole thing took about five minutes. since I had to dig in my pack for fresh batteries! Maybe if you built simpler anchors you would get off the climb before dark.
  19. Yup, that angle is a little on the wide side. Also looks like it took a long time to build.
  20. You should post a trip report here. What did you climb? Got any pictures? As for the jacket Q, I think davidk is right.
  21. very tasteful Bill
  22. I'd love to test your theory. How about unplugging your computer for a few years?
  23. Hey mods, just imagine how much better this thread would be without Kevbone and KK. edit: OK, mostly just kevbone.
  24. DANGER! ...maybe.... Sharpie on rope
