  1. I haven't been up there this year, but I remember a small stream at the base near a sweet bivy spot on top of a big flat boulder. I'd wager that little stream is still running, but that was 2 years ago and I think it was earlier in the season. BTW, if you find a pair of black Smith sunglasses below that big boulder, I'd appreciate their return.
  2. A very enjoyable TR sir. I hope you will share your next SKT story with us as well.
  3. keep hips close to wall keep hands close to vertical don't slip feet: any pain below the thighs is easier to ignore due to the inefficiencies of the nervous system. Keep telling yourself this.
  4. Kit Lewis could give the same show as last year. "Today is a good day to die"

  7. BUMP Is Empire for $3/sqft installed (includes carpet, pad, installation) a good deal?
  8. I need ~400sqft carpet installed in a liv rm and bed rm. Anybody have any recommendations for places that sell and install carpet? This is for a rental, so inexpensive is good.
  9. Volunteer SAR personnel in WA state are already reimbursed for gas expenditures (when using their own car to respond to an incident) as well as any equipment/clothing/etc that is lost/damaged/consumed during the incident.

  11. Do you need double ropes for teh raps, or is a single good enough?
  12. You might want to specify that you are looking for partners for Mt. Rainier. It's spelled "cleaver".
  13. Awesome! Thanks Matt. I was disappointed I couldn't tag along on this trip. Got any more good pictures?
  14. When the freezing level is >9000' (as it probably will be in late July), I don't think crispy snow will be an issue. One trick is to grab a stick or a couple pointy rocks for the little snow traverse bits you will encounter getting to the base of the NR.
  15. You do not need an enchantments camping permit for Stuart. You will not need crampons/axe/boots for the southern approach. You would probably want all three for descending the Sherpa. I'd wager that late July there will be one or two open crevasses and the bergshrund will be somewhat open, but passable. I don't have any recent beta on the condition of the Sherpa glacier, but I bet someone will speak up soon.

  19. I was climbing near the UTW at Index that day and heard the helicopter. I wondered if there was a rescue underway. LINK1 LINK2 I hope you get your pack back. Best wishes for your friend's recovery.
  20. Wow. I trust that my #0.75 camalot was key for sending these routes? When you think about it, it's almost like I was there and climbed those routes too. Blah blah. Thanks for the TR guys. It's inspiring to see what really good and motivated climbers are capable of.
