  1. I think the tree would appreciate climbers stay in the gym even if one of their own is sacrificed for the cause.
  2. The only marker for a successful climb is if everyone gets home without a need for medical assistance. Fuck actual summits. Was it fun? Success.
  3. Great photos here.
  4. https://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/tripreport look here for TR searches. There are lots of lundin pk there.
  5. copyright issues? like copying verbage from other guidebooks? and the access issues? Shouldn't the access should have been sorted out before any route development happens? I suppose I could go on that thread but it sounds depressing.
  6. photo op. looks like they walked from photographer to ridgeline and than back
  7. People may do strange things for a good photo. For all we know, heli drop the three and they booted 10 yards (or meters) back to heli.
  8. interesting combination of human in photo. we got a group of three backcountry skiers (so not a heli ski outfit) and what looks like a guided group of three (based on the lead person rope coil choice) If in cascades and possibly early spring due to depth of bootpack, I can't think of any usual guided locations with that back drop. if it was accessible by non skiis, there should be lots more ski tracks.
  9. SNOWSHOES? I thought you were allergic to slowshoes. looks fun. how is that area in summer?
  10. I can not stand using online route guides while climbing. (like mtn proj and others) not only is it hard to navigate and find routes but staring at the damn phone while out there is against the spirit of climbing. flipping a page is so much better than a swipe and touch and swipe and touch. UGH.
  11. size or one size fits all?
  12. Maybe try nwhikers dot com or some other hiking website. Not really Prime alpine climbing season but the hiking is OK.
  13. wasn't rocktober this weekend unless you went to vantage. ugh. was raining in the icicle!
  14. same thing at lake loiuse gift shop. In the heart of one of the grandest mountain ranges in NA, take your photo with a stuffed grizzly and a mountainous backdrop of.........shuksan.
  15. I wonder if it is along road or the trail? says trail but I thought the trail was in old growth forest?
  16. the pessimist in me thinks we will get the same Climbing mag without any improvement.
  17. there is a pretty good thread on cascade footwear that may be helpful for your gear choices.
  18. Mec has been all downhill since they got rid of the serratus line of packs.. I love my genie pack which they no longer make.
  19. thanks. great article. I admit that I am the old school that suffered too many dirt trail miles in plastic boots. I thought I was smarter with lighter leather ice climbing boots. time for a real rethink about that and try some of those options given.
  20. well they could make it less easy to get up the pole? install raging honey badgers ontop every pole? or maybe just a guard(with a leashed honey badger) up and down the cable way. or let it run 24/7?
  21. maybe your shoes are too tight to hike in? why can you not hike in approach shoes? My toes get a bit beat up hiking down with approach shoes. had to buy some alta trail running shoes that have a very large toe box to hike in. first world problem.
  22. 2 things to note 1. that person or persons is bold AF 2. there were no counter measures to prevent it from happening again??
  23. I know Robin! did not know she was out there helping. Looks like I need to go spend more time on 3 oclock.
  24. No knowledge but a simple couple of days in bOzeman, but I thought that things were pricey in Bozeman. May be cheaper than here but more expensive than most other Rocky Mountain states. (Other than Colorado) I remember driving through driggs to get to Targhee ski area. Oh that ski area is lovely. My kinda living. wherever you finally land, can I crash on your sofa?
  25. Alright then, back up to the slabbage!
