  1. not too dark as it is a Book! and written by the man himself, Matt Schonenwald. I think I have that book at home if I can remember to look.............
  2. or this map? https://beaconguidebooks.com/product/backcountry-ski-map-mount-baker/
  3. i don't have this book infront of me, but wouldn't that info be in here? https://beaconguidebooks.com/product/backcountry-skiing-mount-baker-washington/
  4. I do not know if we were first on anything. the usual mode is that Darin has a great idea for an adventure and I get to enjoy his hard work. we did do some tour from mt herman down chain lakes and over and around and somehow got back down to the baker highway, maybe near the XC parking lot. great day but to be honest, i had no idea where I was. luckilly Darin waited for me to make sure I did not get lost. I was on a old voille splitboard and he was on skiis, so if it was a first, it was a double first!
  5. the range looks so bony for february.
  6. nice. thanks for the TR. what are the dotted blue lines in that map representing? ski routes or creeks?

the knuckle contests are the only event that i can watch. so much creativity and personal flare in such a small feature. the events with massive jumps seem to become a confusing (for a spectator) amount of flips and turns that I have no idea what happened. was it 5 or 6 360's with 3 corks and a butt scratch? Amazing for sure but I am just too clueless to see what is going on.
  8. I feel your sentiment and agree with SC being a dick BUT as far as I know, he is still alive RIP Marc.
  9. Overall 76”x41”. I tried to,show dimensions from middle spacer to edge, wide and narrow widths.
  10. Ok. Just set up the ledge will attach photos. Not sure how large you want. To be ultra light, it seems small but I have never slept on a portal edge so what do I know? I included photos showing dimensions, outside to outside edges.
  11. i have that exact copy of linear algebra at home. oh the good ole college days.
  12. don't beat yourself up so much. Ya gotta remember that all that goofiness and dedication was in his early 20's, a time when it is easier to avoid the rigors of life demands. I sure wish he was around to inspire us in his early 30's.
  13. The brightest candle burns shortest. His candle went solar.
  14. Now on Netflix if you wanna watch for free
  15. this must a record TR for you. You usually are not a subject in photos but this time you made it in 5 images. Good thing to climb with someone who knows and likes to take photos too. great TR.
  16. you could maybe find a used board on "Splitboards of Washginton" facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/250388675093963
  17. you always manage to avoid the crowds. good job and great photos.
  18. convince the mountain bikers that they need trails that happen to scoot near the cave. them guys (evergreen mountain bike alliance) are trail builders extraordinaire.
  19. they may not run courses in the more unpredictable weather months, one can still hire private one on one guiding through those same companies. gonna be expensive though.
  20. that tooth fairie route feels like easy 5.10 route especially on the crux. 5.9+ can mean a lot to different climbers. but maybe another line went in somewhere nearby tooth fairy.
  21. The “possible go around” is doable. That is part of the Easton route which should be continuous ice.
  22. Great photos. Thanks for the update. Climate change really did a number on the Ronan wall. Your last photo is especially interesting/sad. There should be no rock Cliff on the top of Roman wall. Ice recession.
  23. wait till I climb it with my 14yo kid before anyone chops it. would rather not traumatize the boy. I have climbed it a bunch of times too but don't think this is some kind of travesty. it is actually a good thing.
  24. john scurlock has a interestuinig FB post on this glacier thing going on
