PullinFool Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 So what kind of cool gear or gaper stuff did folks end up with? I got a soloist device. I've used it once before, but still don't trust it without the old back - up knot, and I feel a WAY lot safer with the gri-gri and a back-up knot for solo stuff... hmmm...should I trade it in? Quote

allison Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 BD Raven Pro. Guess I'm going to have to get over my extreme snow lameness and learn how to use it. It is, as promised, "lighter than a potato chip", but may for now just be a dangerous weapon in my gumby hands. Quote

forrest_m Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 how sad is this: i got $150 worth of gift certificates - from three different family members - to Home Depot. Not that they won't come in handy, but I guess everyone figures I'm a full-time homeowner. hey, i'm a mini-disc enthusiast too. got mine in singapore a few years ago. i think it's very cool, but i fear the technology is soon to be supplanted by some variation of solid state, mp3 or whatever, because they're even lighter and with no mechanical parts, even more battery efficient. JoshK Posted December 26, 2002 Posted December 26, 2002 Minidisc wont catch on over here (it's been trying for years) because MP3/WMA/etc. devices are better in every way; they run longer on batteries, cost less, store more and feature no moving parts. Quote
