murraysovereign Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I was hoping she'd pull herself together, but I guess not... Quote
billcoe Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I'm torn, as I bet most of you are too. She was certainly an amazing talent. Quote
murraysovereign Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 Yeah, when she was "on" she was great. Â If I was someone close to her, right now I'd be trying to track down that SOB ex-husband who got her into the drugs and then bailed on her... Can't say for sure what I'd do when I found him, but I don't imagine it would be pleasant. Quote
billcoe Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 That was a choice which SHE made Murray. Â Why blame others for ones personal choices and personal decisions? Quote
murraysovereign Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 I'm not absolving her of any and all responsibility: she jumped, no question, but I think the guy who walked her out onto the bridge and then urged her to jump should take some of the heat, too. Â I've been out on a similar bridge myself, and I've had to drag my brother kicking and screaming back off another one. In both cases there were people trying to help, and there were other people laughing and jeering and chanting "JUMP!! JUMP!! JUMP!!" Those people made choices too, and just once I'd like to see some of them held to account. Quote
rmncwrtr Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Now Amy Winehouse is dead, like many others whose unnecessary deaths have been retrospectively romanticised, at 27 years old. Whether this tragedy was preventable or not is now irrelevant. It is not preventable today. We have lost a beautiful and talented woman to this disease. Â This is from Russell Brand's blog. One of the better articles I've read about this for those who might be interested. Quote
Jim Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Should have stepped it up and gone to rehab, yes, yes, yet. Sad. Quote
Buckaroo Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Amy was da bomb, RIP babe. Â [video:youtube] Quote
