In the AK Range. That chock-stone is all of 2"x3".

What we rap off while ice climbing up here. Always sketches me out but they've held for 20+ years.

Hey, Darren! I still trust shit like that, whenever I find it! :)

Lightning Dome is lousy with crap like that - buttonheads, SMC spinners, etc.

Hicks wants to replace it all, but I say it's still got at least another 10 good years left in it.

I can't really compete with some of what has been posted, but here are a couple of less than stellar anchors....

On the probable second ascent of the Firey route on Repulse, Scott pulled this pin (a 40+ year old Cassin) on rappel (yikes!). We then re-placed it in a different crack using a rock, as we didn't have a hammer. Needless to say, we backed it up:

A "station" on the EFD of Chimney Rock. One nut wasn't too bad, but the other left a lot to be desired....The webbing tied through the wire added a nice touch.

It's a pity, I clipped the mankiest mank I ever have clipped on P2 of that route, but I was definitely not in the mood for photography.

Surely someone has a pic of the square-knotted copperhead on Liberty Crack?
