rob Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 So, for the next week my office has put me up in the Hilton, to attend some "total immersion" management training bullshit. There are no interwebs in the conference room, the better to force me to pay attention. In my room, I have to pay for wi-fi. WTF? The Hilton doesn't have free wi-fi? Anyway, in the meantime, those of you that know me can amuse yourself with the mental image of me wandering around the Bellevue Hilton -- talk about a fish out of water I think I'll go downstairs and pratice being haughty to the staff. You have to keep them in their place or they get uppity. Quote

This event is making sure that my learning is maximized, to help me fully realize my own self-actualization. Moving forward, I hope to fully leverage my skillset to help my directs reach their own potential using a tightly-coupled combination of leadership, and coaching. denalidave Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Rob, is this event your attending called "The Landmark Forum"? Quote
bstach Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 WTF? The Hilton doesn't have free wi-fi? I have found that the nicer the Hotel, the fewer complimentary services there are. You pay for *every* little thing; ridiculous amounts of money, too - like $8 for the bottle of water they leave on the desk. Its the opposite of what you would expect - paying a ridiculous amount of money for the room and they can't even throw in a bottle of water. Thats how the Hilton's pay for Paris' lifestyle. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Just remember, Rob, focus on the PROCESS, not the PERSON. Quote

It's things like this that make me need to get out into the mountains every weekend. Otherwise I'd lose it completely. Quote

rob Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 man, am I innovating for success! Luckily, my instructor -- I mean, my senior facilitator, has a background in applied leadership science. SCIENCE! I am fully engaged as an active participant in the learning process. I am invested in the experience and am joyfully embracing a new management philosophy to better discover my authentic leadership self. They have provided me with a learning journal to increase interpersonal awareness throughout the learning experience, so that I can achieve management excellence and enable change through developing leadership systems to encourange functional expertise. rob Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Personal Reflection Process: (luckily this is printed on a laminated card I can carry in my wallet) What is happening right now? What am I doing? What am I feeling? What am I thinking? What am I trying to achieve right now? What am I doing that may be stopping me from getting what I want? What can I choose to do differently that will help me get what I want? What is contributing to my success that I need to keep doing or do more of? ADAPT! ADJUST! IF NOT NOW, WHEN?? Quote
Sherri Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 What is happening right now? Dood, I'm on cc.com. What am I doing? Spraying. What am I feeling? A little gassy What am I thinking? I hope that's just gas. What am I trying to achieve right now? I'll answer that one later. What am I doing that may be stopping me from getting what I want? If I knew what I wanted, why would I be doing something to stop myself from getting it? Stop asking dumb questions. What can I choose to do differently that will help me get what I want? I choose not to answer this question. What is contributing to my success that I need to keep doing or do more of? See answer to first question right now . Quote

Dude, I don’t know you, never met, but your are screwed. so you need to take my advice, sneak your spouse into your room and screw all night long. Wear your extra dark glacier glasses to your classes so you can sleep through then with out being notice, and do it again the next night. In this way you can at lease enjoy some screwing. Quote
