chris Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 We know they suck. They chew you up, spit you out, scare you with mandatory runouts and grind the flesh from your bones. But they're still part of the art... So what are your votes for the best OW pitches in the PNW? Quote
RuMR Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 why would anyone want to climb ow??? that's as bad as skiing... Quote
Dannible Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 OW's suck. The one on the last pitch of the B-S route on the south face of Prusik is pretty cool though; lots of exposure, protects well with nuts, and is really the easiest part of the pitch. It got me nice and bloody. Quote
Alex Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Pressure Chamber pitch on Hyperspace, Der Worth Quote
MCash Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I like the unnamed one in Tieton left of MX. 150 feet of sustained 5.9 OW. Quote
G-spotter Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 too short...next... I know you are, but Hypertension is the shit. Except the off-knee part. I hate the off-knee part. I saw some shirtless dude layback the whole thing once on TR after Luc flashed it on lead. When he lowered down his arms were pumped up bigger than his head. Quote
RuMR Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 ha! its funny watching peeps try that thing that don't have a clue how to ow...hahahaha Quote
NTM Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 because i have small hands, i really dug the upper pitches on Rebel Yell. my fists just bounced around in there, so it was thin OW tech the whole way. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Split Beaver. Wear Carharts and a leather jacket. Quote
kurthicks Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 The optional OW on Angel Crest looks like fun. Quote
Brianmoore Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 why would anyone want to climb ow??? I agree. Quote
willstrickland Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I think RuMR has done Pipeline. Yeah, everyone knows Greg Cameron did the FFA of Pipeline free solo, but they may not know that he also onsight free soloed the Lost Arrow Chimney in the valley. Quote
RuMR Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 word has it he got inside of pipeline...how the hell he did that i haven't a clue...i'm fat but small and couldn't get past my thigh into the thing...squirmed for a long while on that one...hot day too... :vomit: Quote
kevbone Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Anyone here done Pipeline? I have a friend who has done pipeline. He said it was the hardest lead he has ever done. I guess the FFA was a free solo. Crazy Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 What about the second pitch of Aries at Index. Flaring OW's suck even worse Quote
Brianmoore Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 The second pitch of "Wrong Gull" out at Beacon is 6 inches of pure hatred. Quote
RuMR Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 What about the second pitch of Aries at Index. Flaring OW's suck even worse uhhh...are you trying to compare aries to pipeline? Quote
MCash Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Anyone here lead Big Bad Wolf or Carnival Crack in 11worth? Both look pretty sweet. Quote
