Mos_Chillin Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Always happy to get my 10%! $77.12 this year Quote
Off_White Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I don't know why they sent me a dividend voucher this year, since the amount was $0.00 Quote
Johnny_Tuff Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I don't know why they sent me a dividend voucher this year, since the amount was $0.00 Do you still save 20% on the purchase of any full-price item you apply that to? Quote
robert Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 You should look into their credit card. $350 in free gear this year is pretty sweet considering I only spent about $75 on non-sale items this year. Althought the places where you could use in on Waldron are probably somewhat limited. I am sure that you get to Orcas every once in a while though. Quote
dalius Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Hmmm... I wonder if I can pay my mortgage payment with it. That would definetely increase the dividend. Quote

Dunno about mortgage, but some places allow you to pay rent with a cc. Add in phone, internet, car, insurance, etc. and you can get some serious reward benefits from a credit card... airlines can provide good value for the $ Quote
gslater Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Using the REI card for business travel is the way to go... $330 dividend here. Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I have REI visa too. I use it whenever I can for big purchases. Got $170 back. Might switch to an airline Visa at some point, but we'll see. Quote
Johnny_Tuff Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 We've got a great Citi dividend card. 5% back at grocery stores, gas stations, and drug stores, $350 maximum dividend per year. As soon as you accumulate over $50, you just ask them to send you a check. Handy online payments, too. Fuck, I sound like a shill for CitiBank, but it is a good card. Quote

fenderfour Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Holy shit! REI Still sells gear? REI, Soon to be the "new" Eddie Bauer or L.L. Bean Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 OMG they just GIVE away money to me for buying stuff at regular price! I'm going to go spend this windfall at REI immediately. Shopping spree! Quote
robert Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 it's free gear? Uh, yeah...... With no annual fee and not paying any interest it is free gear for me. Somebody pays for it, but not me. Quote
AlpineK Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Advanced psychological studies say: If you got a dividend from REI you have either latent or overt homosexual tendencies. Quote
knotzen Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Call me queer, but $183.10 here. Yeah, baby. REI Visa all the way. Quote
mattp Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 $2.28. Even though I go to REI quite a bit, and I don't have any big "I hate REI" agenda, I seem to spend more $ in small local shops because they more often seem to have what I'm looking for. Quote
Paul_detrick Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Same here, $13.00. Need some new lockers, maybe two. For generic shit its ok, but the tech. stuff I'll buy elsewhere. Quote
Redoubt Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 it's free gear? Uh, yeah...... With no annual fee and not paying any interest it is free gear for me. Somebody pays for it, but not me. Hardly free. Wait a few months and you can have that in cash and do with it whatever you want - save it, spend it as you please. You can redeem it now for gear, but you are essentially using a coupon that would be good for cash in a few months. The REI cash-back deal is just a rebate that you can't cash in right away. They make you wait just long enough that you will dump it right back onto them. I have the REI card and ALWAYS wait for the cash. Citibank sounds like a better deal, though, so I may switch. Quote
Off_White Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Knotzen, you're queer. Not saying that's a bad thing, but it had to be said. Quote
whidbey Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 ok... If you all got yours... where the hell is mine?... I'm waiting and waiting.. should I start making phone calls? Quote
Couloir Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 I wonder how many of you with the REI card talking about all the great dividends don't pay off your balance every month. Who's who? Quote
