RuMR Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 how 'bout tellin' us wtf you're talkin' 'bout? The mod crew is having fun screwing around with my title... although the first incarnation "Enumclaw Rancher" was pretty damn funny... methinks its minx... Quote
Squid Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 cool looking -but also a shitload of plastic on the unit compared to an alien or metolius tcu. What's the weight? Quote
olyclimber Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 those are prototypes, might not be the finished product. ya...wierd...looks like a lot of plastic. Quote
billcoe Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 The mod crew is having fun screwing around with my title... although the first incarnation "Enumclaw Rancher" was pretty damn funny... methinks its minx... Enumclaw Stud (pony) hmmm, still might be better than wanker. I thought you had to pay to change your handle? Quote
dbb Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 interesting design. I wonder if there is a u-stem patent issue that precipitated them connecting to the shaft inside the first lobe on each side. personally, I think having two attachments to the shaft (okay, no enumclaw jokes! ) like this is best for small cams as it helps to leverage on 'em when they're stuck. does look like a lot of plastic, but I guess they're just trying to protect the cables... looks like they're about as narrow as aliens too. perhaps some friendly comp? RuMR Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 If you pay, you get to pick it...these guys/gals are havin' some fun with it... Quote
Off_White Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Oh, it's probably just your signature line. What's the point in being the victim of a perverted moderator if we can't victimize you? Quote
JosephH Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Looks like Metolius did it right years ago and continues doing it right today by comparison... Quote

cook Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 The one on the left has three zeros, so you know its better. Quote
corvallisclimb Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 interesting note on those, my partner and i found one on the salathe in may and, that night at the bivy we showed it to kitty calhoun, who then declared she had lost left it there earlier that day... damnit to bad i dont still have it Quote
Blake Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Looks like Metolius did it right years ago and continues doing it right today by comparison... Yeah, how are these really different from TCUs by Metolius, DMM, etc? Quote
Figger_Eight Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 By eliminating the posts on either side, they're about 2/3 the width (side to side) of a TCU. Quote
mec Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 even though the cam portion looks small, the rest of it looks a bit bulky. it might just be all that plastic being used to protect parts, but it appears to be more complicated than a metolius/dmm style TCU, or even an alien. Quote
EWolfe Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 What do you care Minuteman! You're a sport climber! The aliens still are hands down the best. Quote
