Rev_D._Wayne_Love Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 The majority of our nation voted for Bush to be our president. So, let's rally against our nation tonight. Let's let our country know- you don't know what's best for us as a nation! Only us select few hippy liberals here in Seattle know what's best for this nation!!To hell with democracy! A few birkenstock clad Subaru drivers in Fremont should have dictatorship authority over this entire nation!!! Quote
Rev_D._Wayne_Love Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 Sweet- still in effect.... *** You are ignoring this user *** Quote
Harkin_Banks Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 holy shit they all have subarus? no wonder there was a traffic jam. just look at the odds of a breakdown with that much subaru around the subaru spokesman rides a bike for a living - that should be your first clue about the quality Quote
Doug Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Nice post CB, I thought you were lost and gone forever. You must not have got the memo. All the neo-conservatives are at ascencionist.com. They are currently plotting the demise of the latest cartoon show to promote tolerance and acceptance of all. Quote
Off_White Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I noticed "democracy" was a word that did not appear anywhere in Bush's inauguration speech. I had no idea there were 56 million subaru driving liberals in Fremont, that Seattle traffic mess makes a little more sense now. Quote
rbw1966 Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Using the term 'majority' undermines the fact that Bush won by the slimmest margin in history. Quote
griz Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 yeah, and if it was a pure democracy where every vote counts then the fuck wouldn't have been elected the first time considering he LOST the popular vote in '00. Quote
Alpinfox Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I noticed "democracy" was a word that did not appear anywhere in Bush's inauguration speech. But in a 21 minute speech, he managed to squeeze in 25 "Freedoms" and 17 "Liberties"! Thanks John Stewart. Quote
foraker Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Never underestimate the the ability of rank and file party members to spin results in a way that maximally validates their worldview. The nice thing about being an indepedent is it allows me to laugh at both the hippies and the robber barons. Quote
Doug Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Y'all think if W knew we were terrarizing his credability he'd go nucular on us? Quote
olyclimber Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 The clear victory should give Dubya a "mandate" to suspend freedom of speech that these darn protesters are using to protest against him with. Then we can get on with an "ownership" democracy that our forefathers had envisioned. Quote
JayB Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I have actually been enjoying the "Make the World Safe for Self Parody" rallies held around the nation. Serious people on the Left must be absolutely mortified every time they turn on the TV and see the Holistic Vegan Dreamcatcher Fabrication Society hoisting their signs on the mall... Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I heard that some UW students were hassling two Army recruiters who were on campus. I may be liberal and anti-Bush, but I think that sort of thing is total bullshit. Our military personell are supposed to do exactly as our elected official order them to do. To hold them responsible for politicians you don't like is stupid. Rally and protest against the politicians, not our servicemen. We should be proud that we have a military that keeps itself apart from politics. Other countries like Pakistan have militaries that do get involved and that is why they have the dictator Musharrif. Quote
Thudman Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Careful, you're assuming that the election was truly fair and democratic. I'm not sure we can make that assumption. Jimmy Carter, of UN elections monitoring fame, among other things, noted that the UN wouldn't let the setup in Florida pass, and Florida was really no worse than anywhere else for disenfranchisement and potential fraud. Quote
Jim Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Last I checked Democracy is supposed to be a messy discussion, not a sing-a-long. It's alway easier to characterize demonstrators as "fringe" rather than have one of those discussions. Quote

Jim Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 What did your sign say Jim? Unfortunately I was working away with the masses. It might have said "President Bush - Can U Read This? Quote
tomtom Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Careful, you're assuming that the election was truly fair and democratic. I'm not sure we can make that assumption. Jimmy Carter, of UN elections monitoring fame, among other things, noted that the UN wouldn't let the setup in Florida pass, and Florida was really no worse than anywhere else for disenfranchisement and potential fraud. The gov's election in Washington wouldn't pass muster either. Not surprising that Gregoire has lost interest in "making sure that every vote is counted" since the last count was in her favor. Just another lying politician. Quote

Sadly I have to agree with this statement. Quote
chucK Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Probably feel less mortified than serious people on the right must feel when they see people protesting Spongebob, when they read exhortations to "bomb those ragheads back the stone ages", or when they witness industrialists feasting on babies. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 when they read exhortations to "bomb those ragheads back the stone ages" when all else fails: demonize sorry, no dice Quote
Lars Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 or when they witness industrialists feasting on babies. and which industrialists would that be?? Quote
