Jens Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Anyone care to share a few favorite post climb watering holes near climbing areas? Sometimes a pint after getting shut down on a climb is half the fun. I'm talking places close to climbs where you actually see other climbers in the establishment on rare occasion. Highlander in Ashford Reynolds in Lillooet B.C. Squamish Brewpub (the one with the painting of the chief) The little bar in the Paradise lodge Gustav's- Leavenworth I don't care what anybody says, the place has and will always be my favorite. Index tavern RIP. somebody buy the place and reopen it. ___________________________ Anything nearish to Marblemount? Anything nearish to Mt. Baker highway? Quote
goatboy Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Smith - 7th St Brewery in Redmond WA Pass - Winthrop Brewpub Joshua Tree- the JT Saloon, free Tacos on Wed night and $1 drinks! Quote
Macson Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Goatboy, can you tell me where the Winthrop Brewpub is or which place it is you're talking about? I can't seem to think of anyplace there where they brew their own....unless you're talking about the Twisp Brewpub. If you're talking Twisp, I agree the place is great. Â Also, what's that pub in Glacier accross the street from Milano's? Graham's? I like the Mutha Burger. Quote
catbirdseat Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Ducks and Drakes in Leavenworth. It's across the street from Gustav's. On a hot summer afternoon, when Gustav's is full of people and swealtering hot, D&D's is delightfully cool and dark. Toast turned me on to the place. The waitresses are all really cute and friendly and the sandwiches are really good. And of course they have a good selection of microbrews in pitchers. Quote
specialed Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Fuck the Winthrop Brewpub. The food sucks and the owner's too cheap to higher enough waitstaff. Quote
barkernews Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 That little Mexican joint in Terrebonne! CHEAP food and CHEAP beer. Quote
iain Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 the mexican joint in terrebonne reminds me of eating in my middle school cafeteria and I don't even get any chocolate milk Quote
Winter Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Wow Iain you must have hung out with a lot of sirly drunk cowboys and bad accoustic musicians. Quote

Dru Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 The Mugs and Jugs aint the Mugs and Jugs no more. Â The Squamish Brew Pub is in the tank again after the brewmaster got stolen by the Whistler brew pub. I've been going to the Shady Tree instead Quote
LYleK Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 (edited) The Mugs and Jugs aint the Mugs and Jugs no more. Â They can change the name but it will always be The Mugs . The new kitchen there is called "Feelin' Good," any reviews? Edited December 14, 2004 by LYleK Quote
specialed Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 I have to say the best watering holes I've visited have been in the rural south, like Miguel's at the Red and this BYOB pizza joint at Seneca. Quote

Winter Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Hey for those coming back from the Gorge, a bew pub recently relocated to Troutdale just on the East side of downton - Liberator - or something like that. Excellent stop on the way back from choss fests, manky moss moments and mewetings with the FS. Quote
