Distel32 Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 It was a beautiful weekend and I sure hope that everyone got out at least one day, so did anybody do anything really cool or hard?? I got one day in at 11worth and sent a few problems just below and right at my max, so I was quite pleased. Quote
Greg_W Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 "sent a few problems"??? What the fuck is that? Are you a boulderer or somethin'? Why waste such good weather so close to the ground? Bouldering is for homos and others who like buttnuggets... Quote
Distel32 Posted May 12, 2003 Author Posted May 12, 2003 What GregW really said: "my ass can't even establish on any of the shit that you did and I'm too old to put my heel as high as my chest. Further more I'm a homophob who is not totally comfortable with my sexuality." What'd you do Greg? Quote
Fence_Sitter Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 i typically dont 'climb' things i can't hop over or piss over... i dont think that climbs should be started sitting down...as that makes it harder... i always thought that you should do it in the easiest way....with the best style...adn as far as i have learned...sitting in the dirt aint very stylish... keep "establishing" "sending" and hit that gastonsidepullmantledopeassslapperintheassheelhookingsweetass movethatissixteeninchesofftheground problem.... why would you go all the way to leavenworth to play in the dirt??? Charlie Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 I....drove to Mt Hood friday night. Got to the parking lot about 2:00am. Slept for about 2 hours till the fucking backhoe/snowplow machines started making noise. I started climbing about 8:00- got a good ways up above the ski lifts till it started dumping. I wondered around in a white-out for a while. Decided because I had no map or Compass, and had no idea where the hell I was, that I would head back down. Got back to the car and drove back to Seattle. Played golf today. So, I guess now I'm 7-1 with Hood. Quote
Charlie Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 One more question - why do fucking people climb Hood roped up, w/o pickets? Didn't anyone learn anything from last years incident? Quote
Fence_Sitter Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 i went cragging 4 out of the last 5 days... i am f-in tired....i wanna die...then i get home and remember that i have to build a veggie garden before i go to work tomorrow...pizdec!!!!!!!!! Quote

JoshK Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 weather sucked for planned attempt of NF shuksan saturday with Paco (warm and rainy ), so decided to take advantage of the nice warm weather and slogged up whitehorse mountain. bushwhack sucked, and it keeps going up and up and up. went down lone tree pass way for some variety. many people on that route, nobody the way we came. climbed beckey route on liberty bell today with a buddy who I hadn't climbed with for a long time. we were slow, inefficient, just not in sync...in short, we were suck. Still an awesome time, shot tons of great pics of the beautiful conditions. Quote
Distel32 Posted May 12, 2003 Author Posted May 12, 2003 good story jordop! Thanks IceG, too bad you didn't get out this weekend! Quote
AlpineK Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 Distel You can do whatever you want. It's your right. It's our right to make fun of you for being a wanker boulderer. All that jumping off of boulder problems is going to catch up with you. By the time you're GregW's age your not going to have any knees left. And what's with this sit start bullshit? I'm sure bouldering involves athletic talent, but so does synchronized swimming......so late at night when nobody's around do you like to prance in front of a mirror in a tutu? Anyway, I skied the Birthday tour on Sat and skied up Silver Star on Sun. Quote

iain Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 turns out that guy was buried in an avalanche earlier this year. guess he's down to 7 of 9 lives Quote

dryad Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 Good job, Distel! Don't let the detractors get you down. My big accomplishment of the weekend was climbing my second ever 10a. Big f'in deal right? Well, yeah, but it sure was nice to think that the first one earlier in the week wasn't just a fluke. Feels good to be making progress. Quote
hakioawa Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 Outerspace and gilvers crack. Good times. Saw lots of Quote

Stefan Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 Did Mt. Hardy. Saw some skiing tracks... It was great to get up a mountain since my accident 7 months ago....... Quote
Matt_Anderson Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 Confirmed that Fence Sitter's beta should not be trusted (Waterfall on Upper Town wall was wet as hell). Had fun anyway on the single pitch stuff on lower town wall. Barely climbed there at all last year, pleasantly suprised that depsite spending way more time working than climbing over the last year or so, everything seems a bit easier. Quote
